Highlight rather than hide

You shouldn't feel bad about any part of your body. Your body has given you life and has supported you and kept you going through every situation that you have lived so far in life.
Instead of feeling bad about your flaws and insecurities, you should learn to embrace them.

What I mean is that you should use dark colours and draw attention to the "better" areas of your body that make you feel more confident.
Let's say that your favourite area of your body is your shoulders and arms, and your least favourite part of your body is your legs. Well you can keep your bottom half covered in dark colours, (black, navy, etc.) and you can have a play with eye-catching designs on the upper half, (bold colours, prints and patterns, embellishments, etc.)

You'd be surprised, but there are actually so many different ways to disguise your flaws and divert the attention to the better areas. As I've mentioned quite a lot in this chapter already: you can style yourself with bold colours to draw attention to an area, so I won't become a parrot.
But another way is by using accessories to draw the eye to an area. There are lots of different styles and variations of accessories out there: jewellery, shoes, belts, scarves, gloves, hats, wireless earplugs, glasses, aprons, beanies, bows, etc.

Depending on the area that you want to draw the most attention to is where the end result will come from: accessories.
You can use just one accessory or you can use multiple in one outfit: that choice is entirely up to you!
But one thing I will say about using accessories to draw the attention is that you should over clutter your look with lots of accessories as that won't be a good look. Instead, choose one focal point and focus on accessorising that.

A big part of highlighting your feminine curves is by using the accessory: belts. Belts can come in really handy, especially when you want to highlight certain areas.
You can use waist belts no matter what shape or size you are, as any woman needs to have a slimmer waist in proportion to the rest of their body in order to look as feminine as they can possibly be. But not everyone can pull-off hip belts. The reason being? Because sometimes women have larger hips and thighs than the rest of their body, (such as pear shapes) so it's best that women of these shapes stay away from hip belts, but they can still enjoy waist belts like everyone else.

The whole point of adding this chapter in my ebook and keeping it in my final drafts is that I want to get across one thing: learn to highlight your features, instead of hiding them. So if you hate your legs, don't hide them. Instead, you should highlight your top area and vice versa.

And my final tip for this chapter of my ebook is one that I've mentioned a lot throughout this ebook, and it's one that I'll still continue to mention....know your shape.
Knowing your shape is an important part of highlighting your best parts because in order to have any idea of what your best body part is, you've first got to figure out what your body shape is before you can take any further estimations.

Having a good idea of what your body shape is will help you to know what your flaws are so that you can work around them, and your body shape will also tell you what your best, most attractive areas are. And your body shape isn't a bad thing: it's never a bad thing. Your body shape is beautiful no matter what.
I have always struggled with accepting my body and I used to put my body through hell to make it look a certain way, but ever since I've found out which body shape I have, I've never looked back.

Once you know what your body shape is, you can start to dress for it. Dressing for your body shape is probably one of the best parts about fashion and styling, in my opinion. It's so fun because you can be as creative as you like whilst also dressing to look your best. And the best part? You don't need to cut out any food groups to look a certain way! How awesome?!

So learn what your body shape is and dress for the god-damn shape that you have!
