Nightingale's POV
Right after that unexpected secret rendezvous with my father, my instincts already told me that tomorrow's fight is going to be a lot harder than today. It is either he came to check down on our situation weighing how hard will he beat us in morrow or might just be some other reason than just visiting.
I have gathered the Paladins and the representatives from each army for a meeting near our bonfire. The word must've spread about the faint presence of an Elysian earlier, they all looked so tense.
"May I ask what business brought you and Sophie at the back of our camp earlier?" Dylan asked but before I could even open my mouth to answer another spoke up.
"We felt it General, exactly towards the direction where you and Lady Sophie went to"
"My senses and the General's when it comes to Elysian is acute. We've noticed it already but we don't want to alarm everybody else so we went there, just the two of us. There was someone watching but before we could even identify who it is, it disappeared together with our lamp and its fire too. I don't know its real intention for coming but I can say that it is observing us" Sophie lied so perfectly, flawless.
"How can the Elysian come and go into our camp when the Grave is just there?" Roy asked raising agreements from the representatives and other Paladins.
"Absolute Cancel is only effective in the Grave, it does not affect what's outside of it" I explained that roused worried murmurs.
"Then does that mean if we wield outside the Grave and attack those that are inside--"
"The Grave is like another dimension that cancels any supernatural abilities" I broke off.
"Anything that crosses the boundary into the grave that is manipulated by both Ethereal and Elysian will be cancelled immediately. Unless you use something that transcends through dimensions" I explained then Ethan nodded.
"We can use the Ancient Gate then" he said not suggesting.
"If you ask me, I would want to finish this tomorrow while our forces are still in good condition" Roy voiced out and he had gained agreement from the most here.
"We will do exactly as that and we will also use our gates but with our number, we need to think this through thoroughly or we'll end up getting buried into the Grave" I told them and they became attentive.
After that meeting we had our dinner, and after the dinner, almost all of us have retired into their tents. I was about to go around the camp when Sophie came.
"Sister" she called and is looking troubled.
"Is there something wrong?" I asked.
"About tomorrow, don't you think that we should add more to my company? It's not that I don't trust the kids but... don't you think we should have someone more experienced?"
"I understand. It will depend on how many will they send us tomorrow. Don't worry about it. I'll make sure that the rescue will be a success" she just nodded as an answer. I was about to leave her when she spoke again.
"Don't you think you should retire into your tent? It's already getting late"
"I still need to give this army a whipping. I don't want anyone running away like some helpless sheep" I told her and strode away. I may not have seen it but I know she's irritated that I didn't listen to her.
I went into every tent as I planned and found everyone else still has not fallen to sleep. I did encourage them, boosted their spirits, and strengthened their will. But that is just a part of my plan for tonight. I told Andre to come over into Cougar and Tyra's tent so I can tell them at once what I have in mind.
