29. Nope

~ Ace ~

I quickly made my way into my building and walked straight to the elevators. I didn't say hi to Krista or anyone else for that matter .

No I wasn't in a bad mood, I was just in a rush. I needed to get up to my office ASAP because I had an important call waiting for me.

The elevator dinged and I stepped inside. Thankfully it was empty so I didn't have to deal with anyone trying to talk to me. 

Once the elevator doors opened I rushed out and made my way into the office, shutting and locking the door behind me.

I unbuttoned my suit jacket and loosened my tie before sitting down. I turned on my computer and opened up Skype so that I was ready for whenever the call came in.

Not even 5 seconds later the annoying song started playing, indicating that I was getting a call.

I answered the call and the screen came up black. There was a banging noise then all of a sudden a face popped into the screen.

I raise my eyebrow as I watch as Ricky's 3 year old daughter bring the phone up to her face.

"Lilian baby, give daddy his phone"

Lilian starts giggling, the screen goes black again and then Ricky pops into the screen.

"Kim come get your daughter." He yells then turns and looks at the screen.

"Ayeee Ace! What's up man." He says.

"What's up Ricky? How you been?" I smiled.

Ricky was a good friend of mine, I met during a job a couple years back and we've been friends ever since. He was the best hacker/tech guy I knew, whenever I needed to know something he was the one I would call.

"Other than my daughter always trying to break my shit, I'm fucking fantastic! What's up with u? Are you feeling better?"

"I'm doing a lot better." I said, leaning back in my chair.

"Yeah yeah! Jerome tells me you finally got a girlfriend, I see you."

I let out a small chuckle, "he talks too damn much."

Ricky threw his head and let out an boisterous laugh, "damn right he does."

There was a loud bang then the loud yell of Ricky's wife yelling for Liliana to stop running. Seconds later the room door burst open and Liliana comes rushing into the room with a pair of scissors in her hand and Kim running in behind her.

"AYE! Stop right now and put the scissors down." Ricky yelled in a threatening tone.

Liliana suddenly stopped and the scissors dropped from her hand. I can see the fear in her eyes as her bottom lip wobbles indicating that she's about to cry.

"You know better than that lily." He scolds

"Sowwy daddy." She cries.

"Go sit in time out until I get off the phone."

I see a couple tears fall from her eyes before she looks down and walks out of the room.

Yeah, I'm not having kids.

"Alright now where were we? Oh yeah, your brother." Ricky says, switching the topic like whatever happened before didn't happen.

"Yeah I want to know if you can track him down?"

"Hell yeah I can track him down, I'm not a rookie Ace." He says.

I smile and shook my head at him, "you say that now but i promise you it's not going to be easy, he is completely off the grid. I've tried everything and found nothing."
