I wake up and blink my eyes a few times to adjust to the bright lights. I look around the room and see Isaac and Kaitlyn sitting in two of the chairs in the room. Kaitlyn on my right side and Isaac on the other. They are sleeping. I notice there is a cot against the wall near Isaac that holds my little boy. I look down and notice that my bump is smaller than it was but it's still there.Isaac wakes up and looks at me to find me awake.
"Hazel, you're awake." He says before getting up and embracing me.
"Yeah, where's my dad?" I ask.
"Oh, he's gone to get some food." He tells me.
"How long have I been asleep?" I ask.
"Two days. You lost quite a lot of blood but they gave you some transfusions." Isaac says.
"Three days. I've missed the first two days of my babies' lives." I say. It's then that I start crying.
"Hazel, it's okay." He says.
"No, it's not. I'm a mum now and I've missed the first two days of my children's lives." I cry.
"Hazel, you lost a lot of blood. It's not your fault." He says.
"I know. C-can I hold my son?" I ask.
He nods and walks over to the cot where my son is, picks him up and brings him over to me. Isaac gently places my son in my open arms and I look down to see my little boy, looking at me in awe. He has my eyes and a few strands of mahogany hair, just like Gus'. He's wearing a white onesie with a bear on it.
"He's beautiful." I say.
"Yeah, he is. What are you gonna name him?" Isaac asks.
"I'm gonna name him Gus Peter Waters." I answer.
"Cool name, what happened to the name you told me before?" He asks.
"I thought I'd change it. Four names is a bit much." I say. "Where's my daughter?"
"She in the NICU." Isaac tells me.
"Why?" I ask.
"She has an infection, that's why she was smaller than she was. They're giving her nutrients and stuff and she's getting better. They think she'll make a full recovery." He says.
"Think? What are her odds?" I ask.
"Right now they're about sixty-fourty. Sixty being her survival. But they're working very hard and she's improved a lot since the day she was born." He says.
I nod before looking back at my son.
"What are you going to name her?" He asks.
"Infinity Anna Waters." I tell him.
"That is adorable." He says.
"Thanks." I say.
That is when Kaitlyn wakes up and sees that I'm awake.
"You're awake." She says before embracing me, being careful of Gus who is still in my arms.
"Hey." I say.
"So, what's the little dude's name? I've had enough of calling him Baby A." She asks.
"Gus Peter Waters." I answer.
"Nice. What's Baby B's name?" She asks.
"Infinity Anna Waters." I answer.
"Aw. That's adorable." She says.
"Thanks." I say. "I'm hungry." I say.
"Do you want me to go and get you something to eat?" Isaac asks.
"Yes please. Could you get me a big mac from McDonalds, please? Could both of you go, I want some time alone with my son." I say.
"Yeah, sure. Let's go Kaitlyn." Isaac says.
She nods and they both leave the room. Leaving my in here with my little Gus.
