Today is the day that Kaitlyn and I are going dress shopping. God, I hope I find a nice dress that isn't too expensive. It's not as if we're having money troubles, we're not, I just don't want to spend too much on something I am only going to wear once.
It is one o'clock when Kaitlyn comes knocking on the door, ready to drive me to god knows how many wedding dress shops. As we drive she puts on The Hectic Glow, knowing they're my favourite band, but whenever I am listening to them I think of Gus and how he introduced me to them the way I did with An Imperial Affliction.
I don't say anything about the feelings going through me though, I know that if I did she would feel guilty and keep saying sorry over and over again.
...
Two hours and three dress shops later and we still haven't found the one. Sure, they have all been nice but none of them really stand out.
We enter our fourth dress shop and start looking through the dresses that are on the racks.
I try on twelve dresses and am about to give up when I am looking through the racks and find the most beautiful wedding dress I have ever seen.
It's white, strapless, and simple. Sure there are a few diamonds that line the bodice in swirls, around the waist is a strip of silver fabric that has a white lace rose on it and the skirt puffs out but isn't too puffy. It's beautiful.
"Kaitlyn, get over here."
She rushes over and sees the dress, she gasps and then cheers, clapping as she jumps up and down.
"Go try it on, now!" She says excitedly.
I nod and take the dress to the lady that will help me get the dress on, she leads me to the dressing room and waits outside as I undress and step into the dress. She comes in and ties it up at the back as it is done with silver lace, she does it tight but not so tight that I can't breathe without getting my cannula back.
When she's done I look in the mirror and smile, I actually look pretty.
"Wait there, I've got the perfect thing to go with it." She leaves the dressing room and comes back five minutes later with a small silver tiara that has diamonds and sapphires on them, she slides it into my hair, which is in a fishtail plait that goes over my right shoulder.
"Thank you." I tell the lady.
"No problem, you'll make a beautiful bride."
I smile at her and walk out to show Kaitlyn, knowing she's waiting.
My friend squeals when she sees me, before starting to cry.
"How do I look?"
"You look beautiful."
"Thanks." I say as she walks over to me and wraps her arms around me.
"How much is it?" She asks.
"A hundred dollars." The lady who helped me do it up says.
"We'll take it." I tell the lady.
She smiles and nods before leading me back into the changing room and undoing it for me before leaving so I can change.
As we leave the shop all I can think about is the dress and getting married to Isaac.
