Riley was born ten weeks ago, he was let home five weeks ago. He is adorable. He has Kaitlyn's green eyes and Sam's blonde hair. He is still quite small, from being born early, but he's getting bigger by the day. My twins' turned three forty weeks ago, meaning their forth birthday is in twelve weeks, meaning my wedding is also in twelve weeks. Today Kaitlyn is coming round to help Isaac and I plan. Tomorrow we are going wedding dress shopping. We all have the day off, my dad is going to be here too.
Right now I am getting dressed into some light blue skinny jeans, which fit me better now that I have filled out, they don't sag in weird places like they did when I had cancer. I also put on a white t-shirt and put my hair into a messy bun. I don't bother with make-up, instead I walk downstairs and find Isaac, my dad and the twins in the living room, sitting on the floor playing with some Lego. I join them as we wait for Kaitlyn and Riley to arrive.
They arrive ten minutes later, I put the twins in their play pen and Kaitlyn puts Riley, who is in his car seat, on the floor in the living room where we can keep an eye on him.
She then takes a notepad and pen out of her bag and we all sit on the large sofa to discuss the wedding.
"Right, so we all know that you're getting married in the Literal Heart of Jesus the day after the twins' birthday. We're going dress shopping tomorrow whilst the boys go tux shopping. You guys already have the rings. So, all we need to sort out are the flowers, the cake, the invitations, plus who's coming, the food, and the honeymoon, anything else?" Kaitlyn says.
"Oh, the honeymoon is going to be in Amsterdam and we're going for a week." I tell her.
"Okay, there's that sorted." She says as she writes that down. "Have you booked it?" She asks.
"Yup." I say.
"Great. Who's being invited?" She asks.
"You, Sam, Riley, your family, my dad, the twins, Isaac's family, Gus' family, Peter, Lidewij, Bas, Rosalie, our friends from work, Isaac's friends from work, Dad's best friend and his family, and Patrick." I tell her, leaving a space between each one of them so she can write them down in her notepad.
"Is that all?" She asks.
"Yeah." I say.
"Okay, there's that sorted, when we have the invites we can sort those out, we can get those tomorrow as well, and look at flowers. You want the local bakery to make your cake, right?" She asks.
I nod.
"Okay, what do you want it to look like? They need a design as soon as possible." She asks, taking a pencil out of her bag so she can sketch a design.
"We were thinking a simple chocolate cake, two tiers, with some butter cream and chocolate flower decorations swirling around it." Isaac says.
"Okay, so like this." She says, showing us the drawing.
"Yeah, that looks great." I tell her.
We spend the rest of the day, well until six o'clock which is when Kaitlyn and Riley go home, planning and talking and laughing.
...
It is now ten o'clock and Isaac and I are sitting in the living room, watching TV quietly, the twins and my dad are in bed.
"So, what will the living arrangements be, after the wedding?" Isaac asks.
"Well, you stay here most nights anyway, you could just move in here for a while, then, maybe we can find our own place." I tell him.
"Okay. I love you, Hazel Grace." He tells me.
"I love you, too, Isaac." I say before kissing him.
We decide to go to bed after that, so we turn the TV off and go to my room, climbing into my bed and falling asleep, wrapped in each other's comforting embrace.
