It's a wonder I'm alive at all. I lasted through the worst of the winter but now, more people are dying. When I go to sleep at night, I hear solider moaning in pain. I hear shovels hard at work trying to bury all the dead. I hear teeth chattering from the cold. When I started the drilling, there was at least 100 of us. Now, it's hard to imagine that there are more than 75. People are dropping as if we were on a battlefield and we were losing. With our new skill at shooting, I believe we could win against anybody. Freedom, and death, is in the air.
