March 21st 1778
Death is destroying everything here. Many brave good soldiers have died. Many more are sick. There is a rumor that we are going to be leaving soon. I think that they just want something to look forward too after all these cold hard months. We have lost over half our army. Is it even possible to win yet? Then I remember what my thoughts were when I signed up for this war. If everyone can just remember why they started to fight, we can end this with our freedom. Freedom is in the future for the colonies. Freedom is in the future.
