Fuyumi and Chi-chi woke up later than usual, due to their unexpected guest last night. Fuyumi decided it was best to not let her brothers know that Tokoyami had been at the house.

Much to his annoyance, Todoroki had been called in last minute to do morning and night shift in a different town so he wouldn't be back till late, and Natsuo had left to do grocery shopping. He had begged and pleaded with Fuyumi to tag along and bring Chi-chi, coming up with excuse after excuse to change her mind.

"But what if I forget something? Or I buy the wrong things?
"I've already texted you what to buy, how many, and the brand."

"But I wanna be those cool uncles that buy whatever their nieces and nephews want!"
"I've seen you shop ONLINE with my two-year-old daughter over FaceTime, and you use dads card. Who does that?"
"Heh...you noticed?"
"Of course I would notice when a 2-meter Hello Kitty plush is on my front door, and that wasn't even the most ridiculous package!"

"But I might get lost!"
"I wouldn't even mind, to be honest with you."
"Wow, sis...brutal."

As much as she wanted her daughter to explore her hometown, the fear of her being recognised in public overwhelmed her. Who else has golden hair and eyes with wings? Exactly. They'd only have to look at her for a few seconds before putting the pieces together. Things were definitely easier before Chi-Chi got her quirk.

It was already 12:00 pm by the time the girls had finished their brunch. Fuyumi was doing the dishes while Chi-chi lingered at her feet.

"Mama."

"Mhm?"

"Where did the bird go?"

"E-Eh?"

"The bird! He came last week!" Fuyumi laughs at Chi-chi who looks up at her in confusions.

"Baby, it was last night," she says still laughing. "But he went home after you fell asleep, he only came over to drop some stuff off for Grandpa."

"Ah, when can I see Grandpa?"

"Uh...not sure, hopefully, today."

"Good! I miss Grandpa." 

Fuyumi gives a tight-lipped smile to her daughter with softened eyes. She was glad that her dad was finally making up for his past, and that even included him having a relationship with his granddaughter. When Fuyumi first announced that she was pregnant, Endeavor had been livid. Not at Fuyumi, but at Hawks, the whole situation in general. He already disapproved of their relationship, so this only fed into his rage. Yet, he couldn't bring himself to deny his daughter of her requests, it was the only time in her life that she had asked anything of him. After all, she was the only person who continued to stay in his corner despite his sins.

"I will kill him!"

"P-Please...don't bother him. You'll only make the situation worse..."

"Worse? How could this situation possibly get any worse!? You're 23 years old and are about to be a single mother because of that fool! Did you even get to tell him you're pregnant?!" His loud voice booms throughout the house, causing Fuyumi to whimper. It reminded her too much of her childhood.

"Please don't yell..." Endeavour looks over at his trembling daughter. The state she was in had made her look like she was a kid again, causing Endeavours body to flood with guilt and shame.

"Sorry."

"It's fine. Just please, don't involve him. I've finally accepted that he doesn't me... I mean us," Fuyumi rubs the small bump that was forming on her body, an action she would instinctively do whenever she talked about the baby. "I don't need to have my heartbreak increase, so just please Dad... I'm practically begging you to leave him out of this. It's the best and safest option."
