Chapter 8: Plan

The students started to come out from the campus, but my eyes were staring intently at her. Even though I asked her to stay far away from me as possible, here I am. But the difference is, this time we don't talk. We just glance at each other and part ways like we don't know each other.

Silly. I told you to stay away as far as possible. Not become strangers like this. "Death, may papatayin ba tayo rito?" tanong ni Ariel kaya sinamaan ko siya ng tingin. This guy, wala bang ibang itinuro sa kaniya si Seraphina kung 'di pumatay? It's been a week since he started following me and he keeps on saying if I want him to kill someone.

"You know people can see and hear you, right?" I glared at him that made him silent. Ibinalik ko ang tingin ko sa direksyon kung nasaan si Reverie. She's with her friends. Naghihintay ng masasakyan sa harap ng campus, when a group of guys came at them. I can hear their suspicious conversation.

"May inuman mamaya sa bar malapit sa bahay ni Jelo, sasama ba kayo?" tanong ng lalaking nakasuot ng varsity jacket. Hindi nagsalita si Reverie pero um-oo naman ang mga kaibigan niya.

"Ikaw, Reverie? HIndi ka sasama?" a guy with a weird hairstyle said. Reverie just smiled, awkwardly. It's obvious he's trying to hit on her, pero humakbang paatras si Reverie. Good girl.

"Maaga akong pinapauwi ni Dad ngayon. Atsaka, marami pa akong gagawin, 'di ba?" She was expecting her friends to say yes but they did the opposite.

"Weekend naman bukas, e! Sama na tayo!" one of her friends said. They keep on insisting until Reverie gave in at sabay-sabay na silang naglakad paalis.

"Damn it! Ariel, let's go." I opened my wings and flew up. Kasunod ko si Ariel habang sinusundan namin ang kotse na sinasakyan ni Reverie. I closed my eyes in frustration. Again, why am I doing this? So what if she's in danger? What's the point? I was the one who asked her to mind her own business yet why am I doing such things? Why am I protecting her?

I don't know. My body move on its own when it comes to her. Probably because there's a string between our life that connects us.

We went down in front of the bar they're in. I know we went in a bar as well but I also know she doesn't drink. She's too innocent for her own good and if someone would do something there tonight, she wouldn't be able to fight back.

"Dito ba natin siya papatayin--"

"Shut up and follow me." We went in the bar and my eyes were gazing everywhere just to find her, pero wala siya. We looked on every table, even in the counter. Isinunod namin ang mga V.I.P. room sa pangalawang palapag ng bar. My hands were trembling in annoyance. Damn it, where are they?

Ariel and I, split up to look for Reverie. I opened each door and some were shock as to why the door keeps on opening itself. Bubuksan ko na sana ang sunod na pinto nang may marinig ako.

"Sino ka ba, huh?! Waiter ka ba rito? This bar is..." Hindi ko na narinig pa ang sumunod na sinabi ng lalaki dahil sumara ang pinto. Kaagad akong pumunta roon and when I opened the door, I saw Reverie and her friends unconscious. There are empty glasses at the table in front of them. Looks like these fucking bastards put something on their drinks.

Ariel punched one of the guys that made them gasp. "Gago ka, sino ka ba?!" sigaw ng isang lalaki. My eyes flickered and I walked toward the guy who talked to Reverie. I put out my blade and stabbed him, and that moment, he saw me. His terrified eyes stared at me with shock.

His friends can't see me, he only does because he's in the verge of death. My green eyes glowed that made him terrified even more. "This is what you get for messing what's mine."

Hinugot ko ang blade ko at nagsimulang lumabas ang dugo mula sa sugat ng lalaki. His friends asked him what happened but he can't even utter a word. Binuhat ko si Reverie na hanggang ngayon ay wala pa ring malay.

"Death," Ariel called me. I looked back and his red eyes were flickering with the desire to slash their throat. "What do you want me to do with them?"

I glanced at Reverie. The button of her uniform was partly undone that made me piss even more. "Do what you always do. Take care of them."

I heard her groan so I stared at her while she's lying at her bed. Napaupo siya at napatingin sa paligid niya. She was shocked when she saw me.

"How did you--"

"Get in? Through your window." Napatingin siya sa bintana niyang nakabukas at nakahinga nang maluwag. "Rest and don't force yourself to get up. Don't worry, your friends are fine. I asked Ariel to take care of them."

Akmang lalabas na ako mula sa bintana nang muli siyang nagsalita, "What happened to those guys?"

I gritted my teeth. Fuck. Whenever I remember their faces, I want to slash their fucking throats. "I don't think you have to worry about them." Nilingon ko siya pero hindi siya makatingin sa akin. She's quiet now, what happened to her jolly irritating personality? "They drugged you and your friends. Don't you think that's so stupid of you to come with them earlier--"

"Yeah, I'm stupid," she said that made me stop from talking. Hindi pa rin niya ako nililingon pero alam kong paiyak na siya. "You asked me to stay away from you. Pero kapag wala akong pinagkakaabalahan, naaalala kita. I want to see you, but I know you don't want to see me--"

"Who told you that?" I sighed and torn my hair using my fingers. "Look, I'm sorry for what I've said that day." Kung ito lang yong tanging paraan para hindi ka lapitan ng iba. If I do this, would you stick around again like you usually do? Would you ask me to come with you again?

Yumuko siya. Ang tagal niyang tumahimik pero mayamaya, itinaas niya ang ulo niya at nakasilay na ulit ang ngiti niya. "Forgiven."

I pat her head and I went out by her window. Nang makababa na ako ay naabutan ko si Ariel na naka-lean sa pader at hinihintay ako.

"Seraphina is right, huh?" he said that made me frown. "You've gotten soft, darling." Ginaya niya pa 'yong boses ni Seraphina kaya sinikmuraan ko siya.

"Who's gotten soft? Actually..." I looked back at her window. The light was still on. "... She's acting according to my plan." I closed my palm and smirked.
