Laying my head down and feeling a slight breeze on my face felt good, I felt like shit and my body was burning up for some reason. "I hope I'm not getting sick" I mumbled into my arms.

Dirk placed the back of his hand on my cheeks and forehead, "you feel a bit warm but you're not burning up, it might be just a summer cold trying to come out of you" he suggested.

"I hope that's all it is" I said. With my head turned to the side I was looking around at everyone that passed by, they were giving looks of curiosity, I'm sure by now the hens have passed the gossip that the sheriff and I were a couple.

I really didn't care at this point, I just wanted to be home and in bed and sleeping. Whenever I didn't feel well all I did was sleep. I was told a long time ago that is how the body heals itself, and I was fine with that.

"Guys I'm going to lay down in the car, need the air conditioning and hopefully that will help, let Eric and Steve know please" I said as I went to stand up. A wave of nausea took over and I ran over to the bushes and got sick.

Luckily, they were away from everyone, I hated getting sick in public but when your stomach decides what it wants to do, there is no changing its mind. Dirk brought over a water bottle for me.

"Here, you need to rinse your mouth out and take a small sip, it will help" he said. I sat there and did just what he told me to do. "Thank you, Dirk," I said faintly. I still wasn't in the best frame at the moment.

"Can you help me to the car?" I asked him, "always" he said as he put his arms around me and helped me up, he basically carried me to the car, turned it on and put the air conditioner on full blast but not on me.

"You want me to sit and wait in here with you?" he asked, looking worried. "I'll be okay I think once the air gets to me, but you can do as you want" I mumbled out as I fell fast asleep as soon as I laid down in the car.

I could feel the car moving, but not feeling well I just wasn't about to open my eyes any time soon, I just figured that we were heading home. I could feel myself being picked up, but I still couldn't open my eyes.

Something was wrong, I just couldn't place it, but my stomach was not having the motion of moving, "I'm going to get sick" was all I could get out before my stomach let loose.

I was set down, as I kneeled there letting my stomach do its thing. I felt a hand rubbing my back, I turned to see which one of the guys was being nice to me since Steve hadn't said anything yet.

Once my eyes got their focus, I almost got sick again, 'Devon" I breathed and turned my head and got sick again, not from my stomach demanding it but because now I knew I was taken.

"It's okay sweetheart, I'm here to take care of you now" he said. Once I was done, I just wanted to lay down, no movement actually felt good for a change. "We need to get going, are you able to walk or should I still carry you?" he asked.

I knew I had to go with him, with how I was feeling I had no chance. "I don't know if I can walk but I can try at least, just a lot of movement for some reason is making me sick" I whispered.

My throat was raw, and I needed some water. Devon helped me stand up and he held on to my hand, he knew I wasn't going anywhere but how sick I was, we walked back to the car.

"We will only be driving for a few more minutes, I will keep the window down for the fresh air that you will need" Devon said. I didn't say anything I couldn't. Between my throat and the fear that was riding my nerves, I figured it best to stay quiet.

The fresh air did feel good actually, I kept my eyes closed and rested my head on the seat. He put me in the front seat and buckled me in. I don't think he cared if I saw where I was going, I just prayed that the tracker was one of these buttons.

We arrived at a small cabin deep in the woods, it was just a small log cabin surrounded by trees, only a small path wide enough for the car was able to fit in here.

Devon got out and walked over to my side of the car, he opened the door and unbuckled the belt, "were home baby" he said as he held out his hand. I took it and he helped me get out of the car.

I had to lean on him to walk down the path to the cabin. He opened the door and helped me inside. I looked around, it was cute and cozy under different circumstances.

"I know it's not much, but it will be perfect for the time being and for our honeymoon, so that way there won't be anyone to bother us," he said as he helped me to bed.

I crawled onto the bed and laid my head on the pillow; I tried fighting the sleep that was pulling me under now that my stomach was calm as could be and there was no motion.

"Sleep my love, you need your rest since you are carrying our child" he whispered as he kissed my forehead, all I could think was I was pregnant with Steve's child, but I dared not say anything.

I let sleep take me over, since that was the only way, I could escape this nightmare that I was now in.
