- you're gonna be fine mitsuki! - i whisper to myself, as i arrive to a bus stop full of teenagers. then i cringe. - fuck, i need to stop talking to myself.

- you're right, it's kinda weird. - i turn surprised (and low key annoyed) to see the person who just interrupted me.

- i'm sorry, i guess? did you want anything? - i ask, honestly confused.

- not really. - she shruggs. - but it seems it is your first day of school, since you're kinda nervous and i've never seen you around here. name's suki, by the way.

- i'm mitsuki, nice to meet you. and i'm not nervous. - i chuckle, then furrow my eyebrows slightly. - do i seem nervous?

- dude, a BIT. - she laughs. - where are you from?

- merchant town, here in the earth kingdom.

- oh, so you're not that far away from home. i mean, sort of, merchant town it's a bit different from ba sing se.

i start to nod and think of an answer when i see her waving at someone behind me.

- that's my boyfriend, sokka, - she points at a skinny guy with a ponytail. - and his sister, katara. - they come jogging at us and sokka gives a kiss on suki's cheek, to which she responds by showing her tongue mockingly.

- and, who are you? - he smiles at me, while putting his arm around suki's shoulders.

- mitsuki, she's from merchant town - suki introduces me.

katara and sokka proceed to greet me and ask me how am i liking ba sing se, to which i respond with a short and sweet: it's cool! since i've got amazing conversation skills.

- by the way, - suki starts. - what year are you in?

- im a sophomore. - i answer, rather anxious to have at least someone there that is in the same year as me.

- US TOO! - sokka says. - well, unless katara. she's a small freshman. - katara gives him an annoyed glare. - anyways, you can stick to us, if you want to.

- she is sticking to us. - suki glares at sokka. - so i don't have to endure alone the comedic excuses you take during classes.

- wait, you don't think they're funny? - he looks at her like a lost puppy, begging for her approval, but she just grabs my arm and leads me to seat beside her at the bus that just arrived.

- i'll admit it, i'm a bit nervous. - i glance around nervously at the amount of people bumping around me. - the school i used to go to was more... familiar, i guess.

- it's nothing, you'll handle it just fine once you get used to it. besides, i'll be right here if you need me. - she smiles kindly at me. - what class do you have now, by the way?

- biology. - i say and i roll my eyes. i hate biology.

- well, fuck, guess you'll be without me for that one. meet me for lunch, though, at the cafeteria. bye!

suki and her boyfriend wave goodbye at me and walk to their class.

as i am walking clueless around the hallways, trying to figure out where the fuck in this country of a school was i and if my class was anywhere near me, i accidently hit someone with the entirety of my body. hard.

i don't know what hurt more: my nose smashed against the strangers chest, my flat ass on the ground or the ghost of my ego, coming back to haunt me once again. i look at the victim in front of me and notice it's a boy with black hair hanging on his forehead, almost covering half of his face.

- fuck, i'm truly so sorry, i have no idea what happened. i'm new here and i have no idea where to go and what to do, i didn't even see you there to be honest...
