Jay's POV
This is not good. Not good at all.
Our landlord recently increased our rent. Now, I'm here trying to figure out what to do while Cole and Zane try to negotiate with him for a lower cost.
"Ok. How about 1000 currency less?" Cole asks.
"Logic would dictate that Cole's proposal is a sound deal for both parties, sir. That way, you would get the required profit and we would be able to balance our finances." Zane suggests, throwing in fancy words to convince the landlord.
"Don't think your blabber will put me off. Either pay your rent, or pack your bags!" The landlord says as he hangs up. Great.
"What are we going to do now?" Cole asks. Then, a light bulb moment strikes me.
"Why don't I get a job?" I ask. If I could get a job that paid enough then our problem could be solved.
"No job in the city that you can currently take up pays the required amount we need to complete the money gap. We're falling short by 1000 currency. Since you're a beginner, the starting salary would only be 500 currency. It would take at least two months to get the required amount, and till then we would have been evicted." Zane replies, shattering my bulb.
"Well then we-" I get cut off by the sound of a doorbell. Great. Who is it now?
"I'll go see who it is." I go towards the door with a sigh.
I open the door to find an old man with a long white beard standing at the door.
"Uhh, Hello. Who are you?" I ask, confused.
"I am Wu. I heard about your predicament. And I may have a way to help you." He says as I lead him into the apartment, closing the main door.
I call Cole and Zane and we all sit down.
"You said you had a way to help us." Cole says to Wu.
"Yes I do. Have you ever heard of Steeper Wisdom Tea And Coffee Shop?" He asks, stroking his beard....
A/n: Hello! Yeah, I have a short for you now, coz I kind of wanted to explain how the Ninja got their jobs (except Morro because he works at a borgstore). You may be wondering about their previous jobs, which occurred to me right now, so let's just say that they quit them to work at the Tea shop. So, yeah I'm just setting up some stuff for the next chapter and the rest of the story. See ya!
