Chapter 8: Mistakes

A/n: Hello, We'll focus on Nya's attempts to impress Jay! XD, yes, this is the story direction. But, by my powers as Author, a twist! So, without further ado;

Jay's POV

Wow. It feels so good to be this close to Nya. I'm talking about hand holding level here.

I'm currently watching a movie with her and Kai. Kai's sitting on the left end of the couch, me on the right, with Nya in the middle. And we're holding hands. HOLDING HANDS!!!

Her hand is so warm and soft and silky...
And she looks so beautiful, wearing a black jacket with a black and white shirt and blue jeans.... Soo... Perfect.....

Ughh, Jay, get your emotions in check! Kai already knows you have a crush on her! What will he say if I made a move? Oh, yeah, right. He wouldn't say anything. He'd straight up murder me.

Ugh.

Nya's POV

"So, what attractive outfit do you want to wear today?" Seliel asks me as we're rummaging through my wardrobe to find something nice for me to wear today.

"I don't know... How about.... This one?" I ask, holding up a blue and white striped shirt with my usual blue jeans and black jacket.

"Oooh. Nice! Come on, try it on now! If you want to impress my brother so much that he'd be willing to date you, you have to put some confidence!" She says.

"What?! I don't want to date him. I just want to.. uh...ummm..... *Insert long pause* impress him. That's all. It's just a little crush. Yeah." I reply. Oh FSM, that was a horrible reply.

"Nya has a crush?" Oh no. It can't be him. Oh god..... What do I tell him.....

I turn around and face Jay, blushing in embarassment. What do I tell him?!?!

"Uhh... Ummm... Yeah?" I say.

Grinning and giving me that stupidly gorgeous signature Jay smile, he asks, "Who is it?"

"Uhh... Umm... It's Lloyd!" I blurt out a lie. A horrible lie that he'll probably see through and know that it's him...

And the glares Seliel is giving me aren't helping either...

"Ohh.... Isn't he... like... Technically 12? Wait..... You're lying, aren't you?" He says. Oh no.. he knows I'm lying... What do I do now..... Umm....

"Promise you won't tell anyone." I say as I finally get an idea.

"Ok."

I take a deep breath and lie by saying, "It's your brother, Morro."

Seliel is about to say something when I give her a glare and she shuts up.

"Oh. But why did you lie to me first?" He says, hurt showing in his eyes.

"I... I was afraid that you might be protective over him. He's your family, after all." I say another lie. Oh god... I know I'm going to regret this...

"Oh. It's... Ok." He says, when his phone emits a bleeping sound.

"Umm... Uh... I'm gonna have to go... I have to be at the uhh... Tea Shop... Something happened." He says as he rushes out of the room and by the sound of it, out of the apartment.

As soon as we're sure he's gone, Seliel slaps me on the head.

"Ouch! What was that for?!" I say as I turn around and look at her angry face.

"Why did you lie to him? He's going to be hear- I mean, he's going to tell Morro about this. Then when Morro asks you out if he decides to, what will you say?!"
Seliel says. She is right though.

"I'll decline Morro if he asks. And besides, this way I'll get to know Jay better and maybe he'll even ask me out." I say, trying to find a positive thing out of this lie.

"Nya, that's not how it works. Jay, Morro and I are siblings. Jay would never betray Morro by asking you out before him if he decides he wants to." She says, trying to reason with me.

"Ugh. You're right. But what do I do about it? I can't take that back." I say, trying to tell her I can't.

"You can confess. You can tell him that you lied and tell him about your real feelings." She says, thinking it'll work. Is she crazy?!

"Are you crazy?! He's already hurt about me lying to him about Lloyd! And what if he doesn't like me back?! It could cost us our friendship!" I try to reason with her crazy idea.

"You're the crazy one here! How can you not see it?! He likes you back too! He loves you Nya! She says to me. Wait, what? Jay.. likes me back?

"He... He does?" I ask, stunned.

"Yes! He does! Don't you see it?! Kai's just intimidated him into not telling you! But if you tell Kai about your feelings, and confess everything to Jay, everything can be good!"

"Well, then I hurt him when I said that lie, didn't I?" I ask. Mentally slapping myself for being so stupid.

"Yes. You did. But you can make everything right if you-" She gets cut off by the sound of the doorbell.

She opens the door to see the mailman handing her a letter.

"Dear Ms. Seliel Walker, we are sorry to inform you that your brother, Jay Imperial Walker, has been.... Shot in the back and is... Currently in critical condition at the Ninjago City Public Hospital....." She steps back.

Jay has been... Shot? Oh no.........

What have I done by lying?
