The sun had raised like every other day, and it was peaceful on the Going Merry. At this time, we were all on deck, Usopp was standing at the front of the ship, with his arms crossed over his chest. "Foolish pirates... you still dare to attack the Going Merry knowing it's lead by the great Captain Usopp!?" He was playing around, pulling out a stick he was preparing was a sword. He then leaped of the rails after running to them, and jumped down to the lower desk. "A violent battle ensures!" He attacked like he was battling, that was until he came back to reality. To see the rest of the crew wasn't paying attention to him. Zoro was laying down, going to sleep next to his swords. Nami, she was sitting on a barrel reading sea charts and maps. Iris was laying down on her stomach reading a book that was in the girls' cabin. "Hey, can't you guys... pay some attention to people?" Usopp had looked at the three of them in disbelief.
"IT'S DONE!" Luffy had suddenly shouted standing up, holding a black cloth in his hand. Because of the suddenness, Usopp had fell to the ground. Iris on the other hand looked up from the book.
"Look, it's out pirate flag!" Luffy had turned around showing us the flag, which the moment Iris saw it she thought it was horrible. "After Usopp and Iris joined us, we now have 5 people. So we need our own mark." The captain had announced, however, the crew remain speechless as they looked at his masterpiece, or more like disaster piece.
"That is... our mark?" Zoro finally said, asking Luffy.
"What do you think? Nice, isn't it." Luffy had a great giant grin over his face.
"Shouldn't the flag scream death and terror?" Iris asked looking at the flag. It was scary, if they were children that is.
"I wound have to agree with Iris." The swordsman stood next to her, with his arms crossed.
"I do feel the terror, but it's the terror of your talent." Nami stated, looking at the flag closely. Usopp then started tching at them, shanking his index finger side to side.
"You should have discussed it with me first." The other three turned looking towards him. "How can you forget this genius painter?"
"Genius painter?" Luffy asked, as they were all looking at him confused.
"I've had 50 years of experience painting on walls. When it comes to painting, no one does it better than me." He tilted his head up pointing his long nose to the sky proudly. That was clearly a lie, since his the same age as Luffy.
"Incredible, 50 years!" But it seemed that the captain was as stupid as his always been, thinking Usopp was telling him the truth.
"That means... you are an old man!" Zoro was going along with it.
"Maybe he has 5 or 6 grandchildren already." Nami too had gone along with it.
"Not to mention a wife and children of his own." And of course Iris was also going alone with this.
"That's even more incredible!" Luffy didn't know sarcasm when he heard it.
"Hey!" Usopp finally spoke up before moving on to painting the skull for their flag. "Now, take a look at this masterpiece. Tada!" The flag was then held up with a skull that had a long nose, a bandanna around its head and a slingshot attacked to its back. but there was something off about it, and Iris wasn't the only one to think that.
"Who told you to make your own flag!?" Luffy had angrily said, as both him and Zoro knocked both sides of Usopp's head. After Luffy and Zoro's complaints the repainted flag, this time being the right one. It was smiling skull with a straw hat, just like their captain.
"Well, I guess it's something like this." Usopp proudly pointed his nose to the sky.
"Eh, this is pretty good." Nami said, looking down at the flag.
"That's good, I like it." Luffy was happy with it.
"So this is our mark from now on, eh." Zoro said, sitting at the top of the flag as it laid on the deck.
"It looks just like the captain." Iris chuckled looking at the flag.
"Okay... Usopp, paint this on the sail!" Luffy ordered pointing to the sail above him, and just like that the sail and flag were done. "Okay, it's finished!" They looked up to the flags and sail with the skull on them. "Now the pirate ship Going Merry is complete!" He announced laughing happily.
"I'm exhausted!" Usopp yelled, laying on deck, with Zoro, Nami and Iris sat beside him. The wind was a light breeze, that blew throw Iris's hair. It was peaceful, That was until the sound of thunder in the distance echoed, hearing it she looked up to see that it wasn't the only one that heard it, Zoro had heard it. She had to watched him, he was a lot smarter then he looked.
"Is this direction alright?" Luffy too had notice the thunder sound, and looked out in the direction to see the ship was heading straight for a storm. "It doesn't look too good"
"What?" Usopp asked, sitting back up.
"It's a storm!" Iris laughed in excitement.
"Wait." The two of them turned to Nami who was hold charts in her hand, looking at the rest of them. She had then pulled out a pair of binoculars, "That is it! Thats it' there's no doubt about it." It had been yelled to the others.
"Did you see something? Something interesting?" Luffy asked her, as we all stood behind her.
"That's the legendary treasure island." Nami explained, as they looked over her shoulder.
"Legendary Treasure Island? I've heard about it." Usopp states after hearing.
"Yes, it's an island famous among pirates. And it has a strange legend." It had been explained by the navigator that had a very serious face on, it was almost scary.
"Why is it famous?" Iris had asked, completely confused. She never heard of this island.
