It was cold in the hospital this morning.

That kind of biting cold that seemed to seep into every crack and crevice and collect onto the tiled surface floor. He had seen it in passing, but the staff had even broken out their winter heater and placed it in the breakroom, nurses and even upper-level doctors crowded into the small breakroom to stand around the tiny radiator.

Mark had taken a look at the heater, and he was surprised the old thing was still working. But, unlucky for Mark, he had yet to take his own turn in the breakroom, too busy with running extra errands and keeping tabs on Chenle and Renjun along with Donghyuck.

Wearing a fuzzy jacket over his short sleeve scrubs, Mark walked briskly through the busy hallway with a clipboard in his hand as well as a pen as he went through the list he had. The beginning was just standard questions but the rest he would have to go to the pharmacy room for.

"Mark!" A shout came from down the hallway and Mark looked up and turned his head briefly, smiling when he saw Jungwoo racing down the hallway towards him. When Jungwoo had caught up to him, the older silver-haired nurse threw his arm around Mark's shoulders.

"Hey Jungwoo," Mark responded in greeting, looking at the last of the general questions on the sheet and marking them off before giving his full attention to the other, "What's up?"

"My core temperature," Jungwoo responded cheekily and Mark laughed at the joke, "But really, you'd think they'd invest in some heating right?" Mark nodded in agreement and clipped his pen onto the side of the board.

"I know, I'm starting to lose feeling in my fingers," the intern grumbled, scrunching his nose in dissatisfaction as he wiggled them. He was sure that it was going to warm up later, but it was close to five a.m. and the sun wasn't in the sky yet.

Mark sighed. He had been awake and working since eight p.m. last night, a total of nine hours of running around the hospital and doing work. It was nice though, he hadn't felt too discombobulated and hadn't had any impending feelings of passing out or going to sleep.

But maybe that was because he and Donghyuck had chugged three Red Bulls each at the start of their long shift and had proceeded to zip around in overdrive. They had yet to experience a crash.

"Well, there is a reason that I got your attention, my dear Markie," Jungwoo continued the conversation in an almost sickly sweet tone and Mark groaned at the assignment of yet another task or errands he had to do, "Oh now don't give me that, it's not too hard! I just need you to take over my shift for the group therapy meeting at six. And before you try and decline, it was between you and Donghyuck and I already asked Hyuck and he said that he would rather pick up your responsibilities so you're stuck."

"Gee, thanks Jungwoo," Mark mumbled and deflated, a bit of nervousness settling in his chest. He hated being around large groups of unknown people, and he had never taken a shift watching over the group therapy meetings before.
