CHAPTER 20 HIS SURPRISE AND SHE IS MARRIED

I just checked myself out in the mirror and I'm rocking this gorgeous Layered flounce trim tie waist surplice wrap dress! My head is still wrapped in gauze, but at least my hands are feeling much better without the bandages. There are still some bruises and scars visible on my hands, but I'm choosing to leave my long brown hair down and flowing. It reaches all the way down to my hips - talk about long locks!

I felt a surge of excitement as I examined my reflection in the mirror. I could see my lips curved into a wide grin - it was the first time my husband had planned something special for me. However, my smile quickly faded as I noticed the bruises on my hands and elbows. My dress had spaghetti straps and I knew I should wear something with full sleeves to cover them up. But there was no time to change; Aaron was probably waiting for me.
I started to worry - what if he didn't like how I looked with the gauze on my head and the bruises on my arms? I tried to hide the scars near my eyes with makeup, but these were too noticeable. I couldn't help but compare myself to how perfect Aaron and Cassandra looked at the ice cream parlor that day.
I couldn't shake off the memories of the bruises on my body from the kidnapper's attack. Even my eyes had bruises from the punches. Despite it all, I had no other option but to go as I was. I took a deep breath and headed out to meet Aaron, hoping that he would understand and accept me just the way I am.

Letting out a sigh and exhaling audibly, I hurried downstairs only to be left breathless when I saw Aaron. Dressed in a sharp, wrinkle-free Armani suit, he looked like a real-life Greek god. I couldn't help but growl softly as I admired his striking appearance. How could someone be so handsome and commanding at the same time? With every passing moment, my heart raced faster and my breathing became erratic.
As I made my presence known with the sound of my heels, Aaron turned to look at me. Our eyes met, causing my heart to pound in my chest. He scrutinized me from head to toe, leaving me feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. I glanced around aimlessly, unable to focus on anything else but him.
Approaching him, I couldn't help but notice how he watched me intently without blinking, his expression unreadable. It was as if his eyes were glued to me, his gaze leaving me feeling both exhilarated and slightly self-conscious.

I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. I hate crying and I vowed to never shed a tear. I swallowed hard and looked away, trying to hide the bruises and gauze on my head that made me feel hideous. That's probably why he was looking at me that way.
"Um, maybe you should take Cassandra to your special place instead of me, Aaron," I suggested, feeling a tightness in my chest at the thought of them together. His expression softened and something flickered in his beautiful crystal blue eyes as he tilted his head slightly to the side.
"What do you mean, Eternity?" he asked, running his hands through his hair. "I just can't believe this," he mumbled as his posture slumped slightly.

This time tears welled up in my eyes and I couldn't help but start crying. I shook my head as I ran away from there, heading towards the stairs. I couldn't understand why Aaron would choose a simple and plain girl like me when there are so many beautiful girls out there, like supermodels or heiresses. I felt so unlucky, ugly, and worthless.
I couldn't deny that Cassandra and Aaron seemed like a perfect match for each other. But as I tried to make my way down the stairs, my leg gave out and I almost fell. My heart raced with fear as I closed my eyes, not knowing what would happen next. That's when I felt a strong arm around my waist, holding me up. It was Aaron.
"Impossible," he whispered, still holding me close.
I couldn't bring myself to look at him, tears still streaming down my face.
"Look at me," he demanded gently, and I finally met his gaze with watery eyes.
