CHAPTER 26 TRUE FEELINGS

Carly and I are having such a lovely time together. We started by enjoying some ice cream, and I can't help but mention how sweet and adorable she is. I never knew that Hannah had a granddaughter like Carly, as she lives with Hannah in the servant quarters since her parents are no longer around.
As we continue to spend time together, we moved on to playing puzzles in the living room. It was now my turn, and I playfully placed the last piece of the puzzle.
Seeing Carly's joy and excitement as she won the game, I couldn't help but smile. I have a soft spot for children, especially little girls like her. If I ever have a child of my own, I hope to have a daughter as bright and brilliant as Carly.
Her happy "Yay" and the way she touched her fingertips together melted my heart, and I just couldn't help but smile at her.

"Let's play chase," I suggested as I playfully swung my arms in her direction.

"No, I don't want to be tickled," she exclaimed with a hearty laugh as she started running away. I chased after her, wanting to playfully tickle her."

I am chasing after her, trying to catch her for a tackle, but just as I'm about to approach her, I collide with someone. I release a frustrated sigh and shut my eyes, only to find that it's Aaron standing there, shirtless and wearing only sweatpants. My tongue instinctively touches my lips as I feel my muscles weaken. However, I can't help but feel angry with him.

"Are you okay?" He asked me gently.
My hands clenched for a moment and I gently moved away from him.
I walked over to Carly, who was hiding behind a large couch in the living room.
"Well, it looks like I have to admit defeat," I said loudly as I approached the couch where Carly was hiding. I could hear her giggling.
Sneaking up from behind, I exclaimed, "Gotcha!" as I grabbed her. She squealed and lightly tapped her fingers.

I began tickling her, and she started flapping her hands in response. As I felt someone's eyes on me, I glanced up and saw Aaron looking at me, lost in thought.

After our playful tickling session, I playfully pecked on her head and Hannah approached us to take her.
"Come on, sweetheart, it's time to leave," she gently said, holding the little girl's hand.
"But Grandma, I want to stay with Mrs. Knight a little longer," she pouted, tugging at my heartstrings. Seeing myself in her, I couldn't help but feel a sense of joy.
"It's okay to spend time with me, princess," I said, planting a kiss on her cheek.
"No, sweetie, Mrs. Knight also needs to spend time with Mr. Knight, her husband. They deserve some time together too," Hannah explained, smiling at us.
Carly nodded reluctantly, resting her head against my chest as I comfortingly stroked her hair.
"Actually, Hannah, I don't mind if she stays with me today. It's no trouble at all," I insisted, waving off any concerns.

Carly's face was aglow as a shimmer of excitement flickered in her eyes. I nodded, and she embraced me gratefully. "Thank you, Eternity," she expressed, and I returned her hug with a smile, planting a kiss on her cheek.
"Promise me you'll do your homework, drink your milk, not bother granny, and go to bed on time, okay?" I inquired, and Carly nodded confidently with her head held high.
"Are you sure, Eternity?" Hannah questioned, leaning in towards me. I nodded, gently stroking Carly's hair as I reassured her.
After Hannah left, I turned around to see Aaron looking amused, with a smile playing on his lips. He approached me and whispered in my ear, "You will be an amazing mother, and I promise we will have beautiful children together." His words sent a shiver down my spine, causing my body to freeze and my eyes to widen.

Hastily stepping back, I moved away with my gaze cast down and a weight on my chest.
"Come on, sweetheart," I gently grasped Carly's hand as she placed her toys neatly in the box. As we made our way to the bedroom, I changed into a soft white silk nightgown and assisted Carly in putting on her pajamas.
