I'm backkkkk :))))))________________________________________________________________________
~Sophia's POV~
"No. No. No. No. NO " I thought as I stood there silent. All eyes were on me.
This could not be happening. My luck was absolutely horrid, but not this bad. Never this bad. What in the name of Godric could I have done to deserve this. Boy, you hear a lot of things about the universe screwing someone over but this was a whole new level of bull-
"Miss Williams. Station 4. Now" Snape's voice snapped
shit.
I just realized that I was standing there like a blithering idiot. Frozen to the spot with my mouth wide open. I quickly closed my mouth and walked towards the potions station. Malfoy was already sitting on the left side of the bench. He turned back to flash me with that smug smile of his. I turned my head toward the ground and sat down.
"This is a joke right? Snape is just fucking with me. No way this is real." I thought to myself as I sat down.
Snape continued to assign partners. It seemed like he only had a prejudice against me. He even paired Ron and Hermione together. Like what the hell is that about.
Finally after he finished assigning partners, he started his lecture on brewing the Draught of Peace potion used to sooth anxiety and provide a calming sense. Ironic, right? That's exactly what I needed at the present moment. I took out my parchment and quill and tried to write everything down, but I couldn't focus with Malfoy next to me. He didn't take notes. He never even took out his quill. He just sat there, staring at me. I would try and focus on Snape's lecture the best I could but every now and then I would catch myself checking to see if he was still looking at me. Sure enough he was, every single time.
After what seemed like forever but was only an hour, Snape dismissed us. I've never packed up from a class so fast in my life. I shoved my parchment and quill into my bag and jumped out of my seat. I about pushed Ron Weasley over trying to get out of the classroom. I was the first one to the door and swung it wide open. The door creaked as it opened and a gust of air exited the classroom, with it so did my anxiety. I finally released a breath I didn't even know I was holding.
I was about to turn right and walk up the stairs when I felt a hand grasp my forearm. The cold rings were like ice against my skin. The touch was demanding and rough. Before I even looked at their face I knew who the hand belonged to...Malfoy.
"Well, well, well... looks like you lucked out with partners this year," Malfoy said as I tuned to face him.
I kept my head low and my eyes at his shoes. I nervously started biting the inside of my lip again and picking at the skin around my nails.
" What did he want now? " I thought as my anxiety returned and my heart raced.
"Um sure you could say that I guess," I replied meekly.
The only thing on my mind was Pansy. She warned me to stay away from him and now we were partners. We had to work together, sit together, speak to one another. Kill me now.
"I don't know about you but my Mum taught me basic manners. Those include eye contact in case you didn't know," he said coldly.
I took a breath and slowly looked up at his face. His white platinum hair slowly fell onto his face. He had a pointed nose and smooth pale skin. The one thing I noticed right away were his eyes. Pansy always bragged that his eyes were grey like ash. That wasn't true. They were silver.
"There that's more like it. Now, since we're stuck together, me more than you, we need to set up some restrictions," he said while looking me dead in the eyes.
"Restrictions? Are those really necessary for just being potion partners," I replied and he rolled his eyes at my response.
"God I thought you were supposed to be smart. Yes, restrictions are necessary when you're working with someone like me."
What does he mean "someone like him"? I'm not sure how to tell him but he's really not that special.
"Okay, fine. What are they," I said inquisitively. I actually really did want to know where this was going. I needed to know in order to possibly make it through this.
"There's only two. One, don't fuck up my life. I have personal things to attend to outside of classes and I don't need you interfering with them," he said while eyeing Pansy.
I almost threw up right there. I knew exactly what he meant by "personal things".
He quickly turned back to me and reconnected our eye contact. He slightly pulled on my arm so that our faces were only inches apart. His expression turned cold and fixated. Whatever this next rule was he was serious about it.
"Two, and this is the important one, do not go into my dorm. I don't care if we're studying or working together on an essay. Never ever go into my dorm. Understand, scum?"
I started to nod my head yes but he interrupted me and said "No, I need you to use your words."
My throat was dry and my mouth felt like it was full of cotton. I gulped and was somehow able to mouth a "yes".
He let go of my arm and turned to walk away. His walk was full of purpose, like he demanded attention. He walked towards Pansy and I could see her looking straight at me. They started talking incoherently, i'm assuming it was about me by the look on Pansy's face. I didn't know where that conversation was going nor did I want to find out. I turned and continued my way up the stairs trying to find whatever peace I could. I tried to fill my head with all of the scenarios that even had the slightest possibility of me getting a new partner. At some point I knew I would have to face reality. Draco Malfoy and I were going to be working together for the next 9 months. God help me.
