Me and Natasha sat face-to-face in front of my vanity mirror as she applied mascara onto my eyelashes. A playlist of Dean Martin was playing from the speaker connected to my phone, just to break the silence.
"Tak chto proiskhodit s toboy i Bannerom? (So what's going on with you and Banner?" I inquired in Russian, something me and Nat usually do whenever we "gossip".
"Chto zastavlyayet vas dumat', chto chto-to proiskhodit? (What makes you think something is happening?)" Nat cocked her eyebrow as she finished brushing my eyelashes with mascara.
"I'm not blind, Nat." I remarked.
"We haven't done anything yet, if that's what you're asking." Natasha answered as she put the tube of mascara away in my makeup drawer. I started searching through my jewelry box, trying to find my gold-colored dangly star earrings.
"Where are my earrings? I've been looking for them for the past ten minutes." I sighed in annoyance as I rummaged through the wooden box.
"The star ones, right?" Nat questioned, pulling open the drawer next to her.
"Yeah." I confirmed, still looking for the jewelry. Until, Nat held out her hand with the two earrings in her palm. I gave her a look of disbelief while she simply looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "It wasn't there when I looked." I faltered, shaking my head.
"Uh huh." Nat grinned as I grabbed the earrings from her hand. "I'm gonna go now. I trust you'll be able to find your jewelry on your own." She stood up from her seat as I slipped the earring through my ear.
