I placed the last of my remaining clothes into the cardboard boxes that sat on my bed. Mr. Stark had established a new facility for the Avengers upstate. Meaning, Dad and I were moving to live there.
"Hey, you all packed?" I heard from behind me. I turned around to see Dad standing at the door.
"Yeah, almost." I answered and walked to my desk to grab my Never Forget Me box. I placed the red tin box on the bed, next to my backpack.
"You did good out there, Sarah. I'm proud of you." Dad assured as he walked inside my bedroom.
"I was just doing what you taught me." I shrugged.
"I didn't have to teach you anything." Dad gently smiled. "...Which is why I'm letting you become an Avenger."
"What?" I immediately knitted my eyebrows in confusion.
"More than half the team is leaving or is already gone. We need some new members, and what better option than you to be the first, officially." Dad explained.
"That means... coming out as your daughter?" I questioned. Dad let out a sigh through his nose and nodded his head.
"Yeah." He answered.
"And the Phantom Nightingale?" I hesitantly added on, fidgeting with my hands.
"You don't have to tell everyone who you were." Dad proposed in a sympathetic tone. I shook my head and sighed.
