PROLOGUE

"What happened, mom?" I asked her cause when I came home from school, she instantly called me and I went to the living room, where she was.

"Eunji, come here." She patted the seat beside her as she was sitting on the sofa. Walking to her, I sat beside her. She looks excited? A big smile decorated on her face. Okay, too much excitement but why?

"Why do you look so excited?" I tilted my head a little. "Did you get a promotion or something?"

"Nope." She shook her head. 

"Then what?"

"I have a surprise!" She chimed.

"What surprise?"

"We are moving to Korea!!" She squealed and hugged me. 

"R-Really?" I stuttered because of shock. My dumb brain was still trying to process her words.

"Yes!!!" She exclaimed, making me snap out of my trance. I hugged her back tightly with a big smile. I bet I would be looking like an idiot at this point.

"I'M VERY HAPPY!!" I screamed happily. After a few seconds of her swaying left to right, I pulled away.

"I know you really wanted to go there." She patted my head, I nodded.

It's been 12 years since we left Korea. After dad died because of heart cancer, mom got a job in New York and we moved here. She had a good income and enough for our livings.

"Go to your room and pack your things. I have kept some boxes for your packing in your room." She stood up.

"What about my school?"

"I already informed them. Go quickly, our flight is at 5 am, tomorrow." She said while walking away, I nodded and ran to my room. I entered my room and saw some cardboard boxes with a big suitcase. I went to my wardrobe and started to take out my stuff. 

But I was confused about one thing. How come she did all these things that fast? I mean, we have to do a lot of things. Like buying a house and other property papers and more stuff. Moreover, we are going to move tomorrow? That was kinda suspicious...

"Ready?" Mom asked as I walked downstairs. It was 3 am and our flight would be in an hour. There were some men in hour house, taking boxes and loading them into the truck. I wasn't interested in knowing how our stuff was going to transport there, so I just shrugged it off.

"Yes." I nodded and we walked out of our 'old' house and to the airport with the help of a taxi. We went to the waiting area and sat on the seats provided, waiting for our flights. I started to use my phone, same for mom until the announcement of our plains was announced. We stood up,  checked in, and went to the plane.

I was very excited about going back there. I don't have any friends here, so I wasn't sad or anything about leaving New York. 

I used to have one, Lila. She was a nerd and always used to get bullied by some popular girls. I saved her from bullies and later on, we became best friends. Being interested a little bit in fashion, I decided to change her appearance because I knew, she was beautiful and it turned out that she was a Godness. Soon, she started to become popular for her looks. I didn't have any problem with her being popular as long as she was my friend.

But like it says people changes, she also changed. She became friends with those popular bullies, who used to bully her, and started to bully me with them. In the end, I lost a friend. She was like others. I was very upset at that time. 

It was 3 years ago in middle school and now, I was in the 2nd year of high school and I didn't make friends after that incident.

"Eunji, Eunji! Wake up!" Someone said while shaking my sleepy body. I opened my eyes and saw mom's smiling face in front of me. "We are here, buckle your belt." All my sleepiness flew away and I quickly did what she said.

"Mom, where are we going to live in Korea?"

"Seoul." When she said that, I quickly looked outside the plane's window. I gasped with sparkling eyes and a smile on my face when I saw tall buildings and a lot of vehicles moving on the roads of Seoul.

I'm back, Korea...
