Evan's P.O.V.

It's been a few weeks since Mila's actual birthday. Her mom decided that she was going to celebrate it on the day after graduation. It was the perfect time. Right now it is June 12. Graduation is next week. And I am currently in the principal's office. He just told me that I had to make not one but two speeches. The Valedictorian and the inspiration speech.

"Sir, why not let someone else do these speeches. I mean, fine, I'll do the Valedictorian speech but I am not an inspiration to anyone. I literally not too long ago, was drunk in these same hallways. What exactly is inspiring about that?" I said.

"Evan, you don't hear it but I do. You were at the lowest point in your life even though you had everything. You are the most qualified for this speech and all the teachers and facilities agree with me." He said. He gave me a supportive smile. I mentally slammed my head against the wall.

I sighed as I got up and left. I walked back to my class. I thought of how I was going to give something inspirational.

Throughout the rest of the day, it was a normal day. I didn't tell the girls and Jess about the conversation I had with Principal Webber. I just thought I would leave that as a shocker or surprise. Whichever one works.

And just like the rest of the days, it was the same concept. Except some of the teachers did different activities for us seniors. Since, we were already graduating, there was no point in learning more things. I mean we could but we have been learning for the past four years and I think the next few days of us not learning anything wouldn't kill us.

On Saturday, we went to pick up our own gowns for our graduation. We also did a run through of the whole ceremony. The walk in, everyone sitting in unison, the speeches which really didn't need to be heard since it's just talking and making sure to have the right necessities. We then did the walk out and we practiced it a lot.

Since Mila's last name started with a H, she was not far in the seats. But Of course, being Valedictorian, my last name was not an issue. I just had to make sure I waited for my row and then join them. Jesse and Scar actually happened to be a seat away from each other. Scar was also right behind Mila.

After we did rehearsals, the girls, Jess and I went to a restaurant. It was basically a double date. Oh, I forgot to mention. Jess got into the Firefighter academy in NY. He choose New York because Mila got into John Jay. She actually wants to be a Lawyer. She said and I quote, "She wants to be a badass in the court". Although she always had at the back of her mind, the grooming pet store for dogs. I don't know if she is going to continue that though.

Mila is a little sad about it lately so, I think this will be good for her. But L.A to NY and vice versa are only a few hours away by plane. Also L.A. is just three hours behind. We should be okay. I am though a little bum that Jess will be in a different state than me. But I guess that was bound to happen.

As to what Mila and I decided, we thought traveling for an hour just to see each other would make things more difficult and even though we would be an hour away from one another, we didn't want to do that. So, I am going to UCLA. And honestly, I am happy about that. Stanford was good too, but I just think that when you go to schools like such, it makes you seem a little bit of egotistic ass.

And I didn't want to be anything remotely like my father. I think that's another reason why I didn't just go to an ivy league school. My dad went to one and whatever happened to him after turned him into a jerk.

We headed to the restaurant finally and ate out. It was really just a time for us to spend quality time. At least before reality set in again that this was the last time we see each other before the next big event that included all of us.
