When demon, Genesis Norwood finally manages to escape out of the depths of hell, the portal appears in Payton Moormeier's bedroom. How will the demon adjust to life with a teenage human boy?
I kicked my legs back and forth and lightly hummed as I sat at the edge of Payton's bed. Some of my energy had returned after eating a delicious dish prepared by Payton's mom, but my magic energy was still left with nothing. If I wanted any of that power back, I would have to go back to Hell.
Payton was sitting in his desk chair, effortlessly plucking away at his guitar strings. My head shot up in confusion as the melodies stopped. I watched as he set the instrument down and stood.
"What are you doing?" I asked as he picked up a black jean jacket from the back of his chair and slipped it on.
"I'm gonna go pick up my girlfriend and we're going to a party down the road, " He answered, inspecting himself in the mirror and adjusting his collar.
"I didn't know you had a girlfriend," I tilted my head. It was interesting to learn more about his life, especially because I was never allowed to have such relationships.
"There's a lot you don't know about me," He shrugged.
We sat in a strange awkward silence while he fiddled on his phone, "Do you wanna see her?" He asked.
"Uh, sure?" I said more like a question. He sat next to me and tilted his phone screen towards me.
"This is her Instagram," He said as photos of a beautiful girl flashed onto the screen. I didn't know what an Instagram was but I assumed it was a compilation of a person's photos.
In the pictures towards the bottom of the screen, her hair was fully blonde, but the pictures at the top of the list displayed brown hair with highlights towards the front of her face.

Payton titled the phone back towards himself and smiled lightly at the photos, "Her name's Lizzie. Isn't she beautiful?"
"She really is," I nodded. She had stunning full lips, crystal blue eyes, and a perfect thin figure, "So do I have to just sit here alone again for hours?"
"Well uh...yeah," He rubbed the back of his neck.
"What am I supposed to do while you're gone?" I asked.
"You could extend your blanket fort...there's more blankets in the closet?" He suggested. I looked down and just sighed. I had already spent the entire day since I first got to Earth in a boring bedroom and now my gateway into the open world was going out without me again.
He looked up for a moment and let out a long sigh, "I'll find a way to take you," He gave in.
"Are you su-"
"I've made up my mind," He interrupted, "Do you have a dress that you can wear?"
"No I don't think I packed one," I mumbled walking over to my suitcase.
"Don't worry about it I think I have one of Liz's dresses here still," He put up his index finger and made his way towards the closet. Shortly after, he pulled out a simple light pink satin dress and tossed it over to me.
I effortlessly caught the dress and examined it as Payton walked over to the door, "Change and come out when you're done," He instructed, exiting the room.
I slipped off my old outfit and pulled on the dress, walking over to the mirror. The dress ruffled at the chest and elegantly shaped around my hips.

I slid my simple white tennis shoes back onto my feet and made my way to the door. I pulled it open the door, getting the attention of Payton who was leaning against the wall.
His eyes flickered to me as he harshly swallowed and blinked, lightly shaking his head, "Are you," He cleared his throat, "Are you ready to go?"
"Uh yeah," I smiled and nodded.
I followed him as he headed down the stairs and towards the front door. We exited the house and walked along the pathway to his car. I had never ridden in a car before, but I had heard about them through stories and photos.
It was a nice red car that looked rather expensive. Why he had such a nice car, even though he was so young, was unknown to me.
We approached the vehicle as he opened the door to the backseat on the drivers side.
"Why the backseat?" I questioned.
"Front seat's for Liz," He said as I sat down, "You weren't part of the initial plan so you're stuck in the back. Sorry," He closed the door.
I watched as he walked up to the front of the car and took a seat. He started the engine, creating a rumbling sound that vibrated through the entire machine. He pressed a small button on the door which lowered all of the windows. One hand steadily gripped the wheel while the other moved to a long joy-stick-like contraption, where he shifted it.
As he turned to face the back of the car, we began moving backwards. We pulled into the main roadway when he accelerated the car. Wind rushed in through the windows, flying through my hair.
Payton's hand moved to the controls in the front of the car causing music to erupt from the speakers. The crisp air combined with the blast of music sent a rush through me. I felt free, as if I could take on the world.
A grin creeped across my face as I took in the exhilarating feeling when I heard Payton's voice, "You seem to be enjoying yourself back there," He laughed.
We arrived at Lizzie's house and I stepped out of the car. I made my way up to the house and gave a sturdy knock on the door. Shortly after, it creaked open to reveal Liz's face.
