A 16 year old Taz layed on Lieutenant Up's bed. She had been on the Starship for a year after Up had rescued her at her quinceanera and she was bored out of her brain.

"Up?" She complained,

"Mm?" A 23 year old Up didn't look up from hid desk full of paperwork.

"Can you teach me more combat today?" She sat up and looked at him.

"Can't today. Got too much paperwork." He still wasn't looking at her, "Why don't you go down to the gym by yourself today? You don't have to hang in here if you're bored." He told her.

Taz layed back down in the bed and folded her arms.

"No, the other rangers don't like me." She looked away, "And I don't like them!" She added.

"Mmmkay." Up continued his paperwork.

Taz frowned and crossed her arms. She sat there on the bed for another 5 minutes before speaking again.

"Up,"

"Mm?"

"Can't you take a day off from paperwork today?"

"Taz, I didn't do it yesterday or the day before that. I gotta do it today, I'm sorry."

She hufed. She stood and walked over to his desk to look over his shoulder. He had nice handwriting she thought. Taz pointed to something on the page.

"What does that mean?" She asked,

"It's the mission code." He told her.

"Oh," She pointed at something else, "Whats that mean?"

"That's the list of all the codes of the weapons being taken." He was very patient with her. He continued to write. Eventually Taz lost interest and started to walk around his room.

He glanced Up and her to see where she was going then looked back at his work. Taz look around at all the pictures he had around his room. She had looked at them before but he never really spoke about them. She picked up a frame which had a picture of his family in it. In the photo was Up, his mum, his dad and his little sister. All Up had said was it was taken before he left to join the GLEE. Up never spoke about his family. She didn't even know if they were alive or not. She looked at Up's dad. They were basically identical. When Up was old and grey, she knew knew he would look like his dad in the picture. She placed it down carefully.

Taz glanced at Up as she walked over to a different point in his room. He was already starting to grey. Just a few hairs on his head, but they were there. She looked at another picture. It was Up when he was about to leave for his first mission. It was him along side his first crew. Up was only an Ensign, the lowest ranking ranger on the mission. He was only one of two people to come back out of the 10 people on the team. She looked over her shoulder at him. He was still working. She put the photo down and walked back over to him. She sstood behind him and wrapped her arms around him in a big hug, he looked at her.

"You've never done that before." He chuckled.

"You just looked like you needed one," she said softly, letting him go. He spun around in his chair to face her properly and lifted an eyebrow.

"I thought the 'big, tough, bad ass' you didn't like hugs." He looked up at her from his seat. She shrugged,

"Everyone needs a hug sometimes." She smiled softly at him, he smiled back.

"You're a strange one, Taz." He chuckled and turned back to his paperwork. Taz made her way back over to his bed and layed down on top of the covers. She smiled softly to herself. She could get used to hugging him.
