Hours...

Kenma had been listening to your voice non-stop for hours. The recording that he took of you talking to people on his phone had been playing on loop, without a pause. As soon as Kenma had arrived home that day after walking you to your house, he immediately locked himself up in his room, in the dark, ignoring each message that Kuroo had been sending him to know why he had left him to walk alone again to listen to you talk and rant about different stuff. His eyes were wide open, not asking for any sleep even though his room was as dark as the night sky and he hadn't had any sleep the night before. The sound coming from his phone kept him in a trance that he just found himself unable to break.

He held his phone so close to his face that his eyes were starting to burn with how easily the blue light hit them. Multiple people talked in the background noise but the only one he could hear was you. Who in the hell gifted you a voice like that? He can't even imagine the shivers that would run down his body at hearing you sing. Trash or not, he was sure to like it regardless. He liked everything about you anyways.

He remembered how you spoke about the things that you felt pationate about. He gave himself a mental pat on the back for the last second excuse he used to follow you to your home. As you talked the time away, Kenma had listened intensly at everything you had to say with interest, even if he wasn't showing it. His eyes would dart every now and then to you, watching as your magnetising eyes sparkled with every little detail you spoke about yourself and your interests.

Kenma soon found himself getting drunk off your voice. It was like a drug that he couldn't get rid of. And that he didn't want to get rid of. His head was becoming fuzzy and he felt dizzy every time he smelled a wiff of your scent. Did you use perfume or was it shampoo? Maybe just your natural scent? If so then Kenma could just never get enough of it. He even thought of taking something that belonged to you so he could keep you with him permanently. Well...until your scent would eventually go away with time. Like a brush or a pen or even lip gloss. Did you even have that on yourself? Maybe.

'Maybe I could bump into her and help her pick up her things off the ground and take advantage of the moment to take something? Maybe... maybe I could...go to her house?' Kenma thought but quickly closed his heavy eyes and shook his head.' No. That's insane. I can't just intrude into her home like a thief or a murderer going for his next victim. Besides, what if she sees me. She'll hate me forever. Probably won't hesitate to kick me out and call the cops on me.'

The boy stopped the video that played on his phone, halting your laugh midway to concentrate on his sudden dark thoughts. He sat up in his bed and stared distantly into the darkness of his room, the only source of light coming from under his door from the hallway lights. He wasn't sleeping and neither were his parents so they left the lights in the house open.

'But...I wouldn't be hurting anyone. And if I wear a black hoodie, and she accidentally wakes up and spots me, she'll have no idea it's even me. I'd just be passing by. I'll have to check if she has a back window leading to her room or something. I could always start by watching. Her house did have a garden in the back so there must be something else there too. At first I'd just be watching. Just watching. Maybe record anything interesting but I would have to take the flash from my phone off if I'd do that. No risk taken.'

Kenma's twisted thoughts halted when a knock echoed from his bedroom door. He could see the patterns of two feet at the crack under it.

"Honey, dinner's ready." His mom called out before turning around and leaving. The woman was used to Kenma's lights being turned off as soon as he arrived from school. She noticed that he had been doing that for a while but she didn't bother questioning him about it. She assumed that darkness brought him piece and she respected that. We all found comfort in something different and Kenma's just so happen to be darkness or all lights to be shut off next to him.
