Putting the keys in your Nekoma jacket with a huff, you walked down the path that lead you to the street where you could start your journey home. You still hadn't gotten over the argument you and Kuroo had 25 minutes ago about Kenma's health. The team had separated you two and the coach both made you sit down on the bench in silence as well as Kenma after realizing that his wrist was not healthy enough to help him play. You felt frustrated and tired ,but overall, very guilty. You had thought things over and came to a conclusion that you had no right to yell at Kuroo. Poor dude was probably extremely shocked at your sudden outburst. You noticed yourself that you've been less patient these last few days. You were more easily triggered and you felt constantly tired.
Some people believed in the quote "When you can't sleep, it means that someone is thinking about you." or "When you can't sleep, it means that you're in someone else's dreams." You didn't personally believed in those things since there were all sorts of valuable explanations as to why one couldn't sleep. Like for exemple insomnia or even sleep paralysis which you didn't have. Maybe you should turn off your phone an hour before going to bed or put it on night mode so the blue rays don't damage your vision.
'Yeah...as if I'd let sleep keep me away from reading on my phone before bedtime. What a joke.' You thought, placing your hands in your pockets. The season was slowly changing and the breeze outside was getting colder by the day, and today just so happened to be one. Though it was Friday, so you didn't mind as long as you made it home to watch the third season of your favorite anime.
Crossing the gates, you were about to make a left turn when someone called out your name.
"Hey! Y/N wait a second! Please." A raven haired boy pleaded, running towards you. Your eyes widened, not expecting Kuroo to talk to you so soon. Yeah, it had been half an hour, but still. Thought you'd have to go without hearing of him before the weekend.
"Kuroo?" You asked slightly facing him. The captain towered over you with his 6 ft tall body, but that didn't intimidate you in the slightest. You knew that he had came back to talk about the scene you two had made earlier but you didn't know how he wanted to start it, so you just waited for him to say something. Kuroo was the type of guy to not hold grudges against people if he could help it so it didn't really suprise you when you thought twice about it.
"Um, hey, about earlier, I'm sorry. I wanted to talk to you about it in the gym but I felt like there were too many people that could disturb, and the bell could've interrupted, or I even thought that you might've not been too up to talk about it, so I decided on bringing the subject up after school." He said slightly catching his breath. He continued." I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry for that since thinking about it and listening to your words more closely I came to realise that I didn't, in fact, do my job properly. I shouldnt've left Kenma walk on court and risk hurting himself even more. I should've prioritized that and not let you do my job instead."
You stared at him in silence, taking in his words, before slightly smiling. You rubbed the back of your neck and advertised your gaze elsewhere.
"Yeah, I'm sorry too. I shouldnt've been so harsh with you and I could've just kept quiet instead of making such a fuss over nothing. It's Friday and everyone had a big week so I kind of get where all the tension's coming from. Though now we all have our weekend to take it easy and relax without thinking about our studies and shit like that, so that's a plus." You chuckled, making the awkwardness in the air fade. Upon hearing your good mood, Kuroo sighed in relief and grinned back.
"Yeah, I'm just about done with all this homework. I'm NOT studying this weekend, that, I'm sure of." He joked, making you laugh. It felt nice to finally get rid of all this unnecessary tension between you guys. Neither of you needed that at the moment.
