The familiar yet heavenly sound of the school's bell rung, waking you up from the upcoming sleep that you were almost about to fall into. You didn't know what was going on with the teachers but you had a feeling that them too were all about to pass out from boredom as well. Has it always been like that in Nekoma or was it just you being a drama Queen again?
You had left and walked directly into the bathroom to change. You had your gym clothes into your bag so it was easier to just change and straight up go to the gym to prepare the stuff.
Meanwhile a certain blond was stumbling his way through the corridor almost looking drunk. Kenma kept his head low and almost held onto the wall to support himself. His legs were wobbly and his body was threatening to shut off on its own. Kenma couldn't lie that staying awake after 48 hours was becoming a real task. He fell asleep in the middle of class a couple times for what felt like hours but in reality it was really just 30 seconds. His fragil body had shut down to take some rest, but he didn't want to allow it. If he fell asleep he'd only be thinking about you, so it wouldn't help him.
His eyes were shutting off on their own and they felt like heavy weights that Kenma could barely keep lifted. The only thing that made his eyes refuse to close was you. He had watched you for the majority of his day since you had two classes together. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. Unlike before, Kenma was becoming so tired that he didn't keep in mind anything of what any of the teachers were saying. He didn't remember a thing. Not one. His concentration was always taken away by you or sleep.
He had to remind himself that he still had volleyball at the end of the day and that he'd have to keep his game up since you'd be watching. And he didn't want to mess up in front of your eyes again. You'd start to think that he's a loser. And that he couldn't take care of himself because playing video games would pass before sleep.
He barely remembered Kuroo asking him if he was alright while at the cafeteria. They both sat at a table and instantly did the boy read his best friend like a book. But what could he really do? Kenma refused to go home under any circumstances. He couldn't force Kenma to go and didn't have the energy to either.
He knew something was wrong with him but what did you want him to do if the blond refused to talk about it. Kuroo knew that the setter was hiding something but what was it? Why would he suddenly shut himself off from the world like that? Of course he understood that his best friend was anti-social but it wasn't an excuse to act savagely towards people.
As Kenma walked along the long and seemingly unending hallway he spotted a familiar figure with H/C hair talking with people, with no care in the world. Your back was facing him so he couldn't see you properly.
'Why is she talking to others...I thought we were her only friends.' The male thought leaning on the wall. His vision was fuzzy and his hearing was slightly off due to the lack of sleep. A guy that he didn't recognize put his hand on your shoulder, laughing at something funny. Kenma didn't like that. He didn't like that at all.
'Why is he touching her? Why is she letting him? Let her go. Stop touching her. Stop talking to her! STOP LOOKING AT HER!! YOU'RE ALL GOING TO RUIN HER!!! SHE ONLY NEEDS ME!! NOT ANYONE ELSE!!'
Kenma straighten his back and speed walked toards you. What was wrong with him?! He didn't know. His insides were hurting. The sight of you with others made his heart hurt. Why did you continuously do this to him? Did you like to see him suffer?! Was that it?! You liked to torture him by going to other people!! Why not just walk with Kuroo after school to assure your safety, while you're at it?! He sure won't mind it!!
"Y/N." Kenma said, grabbing you by the wrist. He didn't know what had gotten into him but he just had this urge to pull you away from them. From everyone. The whole world!!!
