I pull back from my mother too see Robbie still sitting on Williams shoulders.

"This is erm-"

"William."

Extending his hand outwards to shake my mother's. Well isn't he being all nice and civilized right now, still angry with him. How dare he insinuate that Cameron was just dating me because I am a virgin and for sex. That didn't even make sense. Cameron never pushed me for anything. Yeah, we had fooled around and he had gone down on me but even said himself he knew I wasn't ready for it.

"He just wants to go over some homework before school tomorrow."

Making up an excuse for him being here at this time of hour.

"Okay. Well I've nearly finished making some dinner, there's more than enough if you would like to join us William. It's spaghetti Bolognese."

Her smile never faltering as she looks between me and him. Mouthing the words 'Hot' in his direction. She was so embarrassing.

"William has to get back soon, I don't think he will-"

William lifts Robbie up and off from his shoulders. Taking a step inside and closing the door behind him.

"Sure."

Following mum into the kitchen. Great. Robbie hands me the muddy towel that contains Williams lockbox. William sits on one of the kitchen bar stools around the island whilst mum grabs a glass and fills it with a premade orange cordial that is in the fridge.

"So, William you go to school with Katie?"

William looks to the glass that is placed down in front of him. Studying it, he lifts it slowly and takes a sip of the orangey liquid. His tongue skimming along between his lips. Could even taste it? His eyes flicking to me then down to his lockbox that I am still holding.

"Mum."

Trying to stop her from asking to many questions, not knowing what sort of responses William would say.

"Sorry."

She apologizes but William waves it off, taking another sip from his drink.

"You live around here locally then?"

The thought of banging my head against a wall seems really tempting right now. When would she learn to give things a rest.

"Yeah I live around here locally. Have done my whole life."

His lips changing to a brief smile. I walk towards the island, standing right next to William is sat. Even when he is sitting down he's nearly taller than me. Mum starts to chat away while she stirs the mince that is cooking in a pan on the stove, William seeming more than happy to listen too her and engage in actual conversation without complaining or even using his signature eye roll or shrug of the shoulder. Both of them talking about Dover and the history, which William had a lot to say about. Mentioning some places that had been knocked down and changed throughout the years. Every now and then he would look at me, probably checking that I still had his lockbox.
