Chapter 5 - Blame

The pain never subsides like you think it will. You get shot to death, that hurts a shit ton. Just because were immortal doesn't mean we stop hurting. Its why we all spend our time fighting battles and training how to be better with any kind of weapon, including our bodies being a weapon, just so we could avoid death as many times as possible. However, this time it just couldn't of been avoided.

The pain lasted for 5 antagonising seconds. It came back when my eyes darted sideways, and gained colour and life once more. I could feel my skin moving and growing, covering up all the bullets that hit my skin. It usually left a stinging after pain, but nothing we couldn't handle, after all we've died a lot and more painfully.

My surroundings became clearer, the lights were still blaring so i moved slowly encase of someone seeing me and killing me again. My head was facing Joe's but my body was practically on Bookers, so i slyly inched my body off his so he could get up when we kill these idiots. I noticed Joe's eyes starting to move slowly, and his bullet wounds healing quickly while some actual bullets just landed on the floor from his face. Once he caught my eye, he winked.

I slowly built my body up, and leaned on my elbows and looked to the other side of me, Booker was slowly moving and i helped him get onto his elbows too. I then caught sight of Andy looking angrily towards the armoured men, i looked at them. They were talking, not taking any awareness of us. I looked towards Nicky to see if he had woken up and he was looking straight at me and Joe, he nodded at us.

Then we jumped up and started sprinting at them, collecting the weapons we dropped our way. I side stepped a soldier as he pulled the trigger on his gun, and I put a bullet in his side with my own gun and finished him off with a final shot to the head. I then pulled out my sword to finish the other soldiers that got close to me, once they were dead, i pulled a gun from one of the other soldiers and helped Booker finish the other 3 which were onto him. I punched one as hard as i could in the face and while he was distracted i punched his stomach and took his legs out from under him, then quickly finished him with a bullet through his mouth.

Andy killed the last man and suddenly we were plunged in silence. Only our heavy breathing and a few rolling bullets were making sound. I stood next to Booker who was holding his gun, and i leaned on him as i caught my breath. I looked at the bodies that littered the floor, we were an army. Why weren't they warned if Copley has set us up? The girls clearly aren't here.

"Everyone still with me?" Andy asked.

I looked at Booker as he pushed his hat further down his head, "Yeah", he said. 

"Sì" replied Nicky, from the other side of the room. I noticed Joe didn't say anything so i looked at him before i replied a small yes, in answer to Andy's question.

"Joe?" questioned Andy, i heard a bullet hit the ground as Joe spit it out. I watched as the bloody bullet hit the ground with a clatter, then all of a sudden it all came hitting me at once. Holy shit! We were fucking set up, in hundreds of years, no one has been able to pull that off! We were in so much shit, if our immortality got out, we would be forever loathed by people.

"Very pissed off" replied Joe as he to watched the bullet on the floor.

I walked over to him -stepping over the bodies on my way- and put my hand on his shoulder lightly. He grabbed my hand and kissed it lightly, avoiding the blood which covered my knuckles. I smiled at him and wiped some blood off his forehead.

"So where are the girls?" Nicky asked, still trying to catch his breath

I looked at Andy, we were set up. Its clear, i watched her as she looked around the room, not for the girls but for something else. I joined her and noticed a singular camera in the corner of the room, pointing directly to us. Not only were we set up but we were some sort of evidence, Copley recorded everything.
