A small giggle left Taehyung's mouth as he was watching the tv. The person on the big square device was doing some kind of funny dance and it amused the brown haired boy a lot. Things like this are what the young lawyer had missed the most. Just chilling in the evening while watching some stupid tv show seems like such an ordinary thing to do and yet Taehyung hadn't been able to do that in weeks.
A small smile began to form onto Jungkook's face as he watched the older boy next to him have fun. A happy smile was present on the boy's face and softly the ravenette shook his head. Taehyung had no idea how cute he looked. Even though Jungkook wasn't watching tv himself he loved seeing the other boy have fun. Slowly Jungkook adjusted his reading glasses before focusing on the book in his hands once again.
Taehyung looked to his left and looked at the big book the ravenette was holding in his hands. "What are you reading?" the brown haired boy asked the younger boy who was sitting next to him. Jungkook briefly looked up before a small smile became visible on his face once again. " A book about two cellmates who escape prison together and fall in love." The mafia boss spoke before adjusting his glasses again. " Kinda cheesy if you ask me."
"That sounds cool." Taehyung answered the ex-prisoner before looking at him with a friendly smile on his face. Jungkook had changed a lot in these past few weeks. The boy had become friendly and calm while he used to be rude and unpredictable. Of course the brown haired boy knew that he shouldn't complain about the younger's sudden change in behavior but he couldn't help but question it sometimes. What had caused the sudden change?
"Hey Kookie?" The older boy asked before shifting his attention on the ravenette completely. Once again Jungkook lowered his book while a smile was visible on his face. "Yeah?" The mafia boss spoke, a questioning tone lacing his voice.
Taehyung locked eyes with the younger boy and took deep breath. "Can I ask you something?" Slowly Jungkook began to chuckle while nodding. "You just did but sure."
Realisation dawned upon the brown haired boy that he had indeed asked the other boy next to him if he could ask him a question, which was a question itself. A small red blush began to form on the young lawyer's face and he quickly broke eye contact with the chuckeling male while clearing his throat. "Why did you suddenly change your behaviour so much?"
A questioning look became visible om the ex-prisoner's face and he tilted his head a bit to the side. "What do you mean?" Jungkook asked his current housemate, a questioning tone lacing his voice.
"Well you know it's like your whole demeanor did a one-eighty. You used to be so angry and unpredictable towards me and now you're nice and friendly, why?" The brown haired boy asked his housemate while looking down. Maybe the ravenette would consider it really rude when Taehyung would ask something like this but the young lawyer didn't care. He needed to know the answer. Jungkook himself must've noticed the difference too.
A soft sigh left Jungkook's mouth and he closed his eyes briefly before taking his glasses off and putting them away together with his book. "I knew you'd ask this question sooner or later." The ravenette spoke softly before sitting up straight and looking at Taehyung with regret in his face. "It's only fair if I tell you the truth."
"That first time you walked into the meeting room back when I was still in prison I immediately began to dislike you." The ravenette spoke softly while looking down in order to avoice eye contact with Taehyung. A confused look became visible on the brown haired boy's face and he raised his eyebrows. Jungkook had already disliked him the moment he had walked into that room?
"My lawyer of course had to be this amazingly beautiful young boy who wanted nothing more than to win my case. You were determined and smart and that's what I think ticked me off." Jungkook then continued while a sad smile became visible on his face. "At that moment your whole aura was almost an exact copy of my ex-fiancé's aura and it scared me, a lot. You just reminded me so much of her. Everything about you screamed Rosé to me."
Slowly Taehyung nodded while placing a hand on Jungkook's left hand and softly squeezing it. A small smile was visible on the young lawyer's face and he nodded at Jungkook to continue. "I guess the reason why I used to be so harsh on you is because I reflected my anger for her on you, which of course isn't fair to you at all and for that I'm truly sorry." The ravenette then spoke while locking eyes with the older boy in front of him to show him how serious he was. The mafia boss was truly sorry for being such an asshole to the older boy. If it had been the other way around he would have shot a bullet between the boy's eyes the first day he had met him.
"Rosé left me for my brother the day my brother killed my father and I've never felt more betrayed than at that moment. However somehow a part of me was still craving to have someone like her around me." The ravenette then spoke before looking outside, staring at nothing. "Not Rosé herself since I'd kill her with my bare hands if I ever get the chance but someone like her, you know?."
Then the mafia boss turned his attention back on Taehyung before a sad smile once again made his way on the boy's face. "Of course you fitted that description perfectly which is also the reason why I took you with me towards here." The ex-prisoner spoke softly and Taehyung squeezed his hands softly again in order to make the boy feel some kind of comfort.
"Once I got to know you beter I got to know the real you and ironically your real you is nothing like how Rosé ever was." The ravenette then spoke while adjusting the way he was sitting and smiling a loving smile at the boy next to him. "You're much sweeter, smarter and more innocent that she will ever be." Jungkook then spoke before taking both Taehyung's hands in his own and softly squeezing them. "I'm sorry for taking you with me Taehyung, I have ruined your life by being selfish. You've got no idea how much I regret that decision every single day." The mafia boss then said while looking down, regret clearly visible on his face.
"I'm not going to ask you for forgiveness Tae because I know that what I did is unforgivable." The mafia boss then spoke while a soft sigh left the boy's mouth. "Just know that I'll do my best to somewhat make it up to you."
A small smile began to form onto Taehyung's face and he softly shook his head. "Everyone makes mistakes, it's how we learn from them that counts. Don't worry about me forgiving you Kookie, I did that a long time ago."
Then a big smile broke out on the older boy's face while he pointed at the window. "You see all those people roaming the busy streets? I'll be like them in the future again." The optimistic boy said while a sweet tone was lacing his voice. "I'll be free again and then we'll start over again." The boy spoke in an enthousiastic tone while locking eyes with the raven haired boy next to him. "As friends this time."
A small smile began to form onto Jungkook's face and he softly nodded before taking the smaller boy in his arms and softly hugging him. Immediately the brown haired boy hugged him back while putting his head against the younger's chest. Softly the mafia boss began to hum before finally saying.
"Yeah, I'd like that a lot."
