Chapter 19!

Alyssa P.O.V.

Today was an extremely long day. I went to work early this morning after I went and helped Sierra move into her new home. It's pretty nice and I can't help but be happy for her.

I was walking across the street to go home but all the lights were turned off. I'm guessing Michael isn't home yet even though I wish he was.

As I got closer to the house it looked like something was on the porch steps. Something hunched up in a ball. When I got closer, it looked more and more like a person with their head on their lap. When they heard my foot steps approaching they quickly looked up.

"Devin?" I asked. He looked up me and cracked a smile, but his smile slowly faded and he looked in pain. His hazel eyes were lifeless and dull. He looked pale and hurt. "What wrong?? I asked him.

He shock his head and blood started trickling down his lip. His lips looked bruised and now that I look at him closely his check was bruised two. "What happen to you?" I asked now falling down to his side so I can see his face better under the porch lips.

"I got jumped." he said. I touched the check that was bruised and he winced away from my hand.

"By who? Are you hurt? Do you need help?" I asked worried. "You could've died!" I exclaimed.

He laughed at me worry reaction but stop and hugged his stomach. "I can take care of myself." he said wiping the blood from his lips with his selves.

"Clearly you can't take care of yourself considering the fact that you just got jumped. You look all broken and hurt. Do you need to get to a hospital or something?" I asked him. I started browsing through my bag for my key and stood up over him.

"No, I hat hospital, all I need is a place to say just for tonight, I don't think I could make it home so I came here instead." he shut his eyes breathing in and out deeply as if talking made him breathless.

I'll feel bad sending him away, knowing that he just got jumped in an ally or something. It would break my heart if when I did spend him away, he gets jumped again and possibly die. He looked beat up as it is.

I had to think about home he walked me home that one night when we meet. He walked me home because he didn't want anything bad to happen to me, like what just happened to him. He always seem to be looking out for me, even though he doesn't know me like that. So if I turned him down know that would just feel like closing the door in his face. I owned him.

"Fine, you can stay but only for one night." I said as I played with the lock to get It open. I through my bag on the couch and took off my coat. I retuned to the door to help Devin. Once I stepped out side I noticed ow cold it was. Tonight they said it was supposed to snow for the first time this winter and I could honestly wait.

I grabbed Devin arm making him wrap it around my neck and pulled him up. I could tell he was trying not to put all his weight on me but he gave up. He was to tired and ran down to try and balance himself out.

"Were going up stairs."" I told him and he grunted, telling me that he heard me. We took the stairs, step by step making sure that I didn't rattle him to much in the process.
