Stuck With The Rain (Lumity-The Owl House)

The Date

Amity P.O.V.

I woke up in the middle of the night noticing Luz wasn't next to me. I didn't think anything of it. Why should I? We've been through so much we could use a break. I dozed in and out of sleep for a few hours, however each time Luz wasn't at my side.

KInda funny how empty the bed feels without her.

I chuckled for a moment only to have slight worry set in. I slowly sat up taking note how dark it was outside, and it was likely around 2 am. My body was still asleep hindering my ability to move quickly. Getting up I made my way downstairs careful not to make too much noise. Scanning the living room my eyes landed on the couch. Luz was passed out surrounded by crumbled up papers and a notebook. A pencil lay loosely in her hand. "You dork..."A grin grew on my face as I cast a flotation spell cautiously carrying Luz back upstairs and laying her on our bed. I took my place by Luz's side wrapping myself around her. Luz adjusted to my touch turning to face me, still unconscious. It felt so much safer for both of us when she got close. I feel a bit dumb for how much calmer and easier it was to sleep.

"Hey kiddo you might wanna get up soon" Edalyn stood in Luz's doorway a smirk resting on her face. "Luz would be disappointed if ya couldn't experience what she has planned just because you overslept." I sat up rubbing the tiredness out of my eyes.

"What time is it?"

"Time for you to go on with your date with Luz of course!" I rolled my eyes while Eda laughed. "But seriously she's been planning this for a while. You're gonna want to put on that outfit she laid out for you and head downstairs." Eda gestured to a pile of clothes next to me before heading downstairs.

I wonder what she has planned...Was she setting something up last night or writing down last minute ideas?

Grabbing the clothes beside me I looked them over questioning what exactly Luz was doing last night. The clothes were pretty simple consisting of a navy blue t-shirt with an Azura hoodie and light blue jeans. After putting on the outfit I put my hair up in it's normal style before heading downstairs. Camilia was chatting with Eda where Luz was no where to be found. "Where's Luz?"

"She said it was gonna be a surprise didn't she?" I sighed looking around to see if she was hiding for some reason. "Try looking for something magic."

"Magic? Is she invisible or like illusions?"

"You could say that." Eda snapped her fingers showing a trail of different scenes of Azura and Hecate from the movies trailing outside.

"Of course" Putting on my shoes I walked outside after waving at Camilia and Edalyn. The illusions lead into the woods but they weren't on the same path as last time. Instead they followed a trail of rocks and flowers. The trail lead deep into the woods so much so I couldn't see Luz's house anymore. The illusions stopped in front of a treehouse. The last illusion being an iconic scene of Hecate hugging Azura apologizing for all her wrongdoings. It's one of our favorite parts in the books. Making my way up the treehouse I saw Luz drawing a glyph that quickly turned into a flower as she drew another that made a light spell. Around her were a few blankets pillows and a couple bean bags. Floating above Luz were several light spells each a different color all of them pleasing. Beside a window was a bookshelf full of Azura books,figurines,merch. Anything a fan could dream of. In front of Luz were notebooks and drawing supplies. Overall it was a bit unexpected and undoubtedly a wonderful surprise. Some might say it's a bit strange that this was a good surprise a kick-off to our first actual date. "Wow...." I made my fully onto the treehouse's balcony catching Luz's attention.

"Hey beautiful!" I laughed for a moment undeniably blushing. Luz had a bright smile on her face. "I was wondering when you'd show up!"

"This place looks amazing..." My eyes flickered all over the room and back. "How did you do all this?"

"I stared working on it really early this morning I was practicing doing the light spells last night."

"That's what you were doing! I was so confused"

"Yeah I was gonna try to do some of this last night but I must've past out before I got to it." Luz drew another light glyph adding a few alterations. Tapping the glyph the paper formed a light spell that shifted its shape into the outline of Azura. "We haven't been able to do our book club in a while, so I thought it'd be a great thing to do today...it's not dumb is it?" Luz looked at me clearly nervous.

"Of course not, it's perfect." I made my way next to Luz who had a look suggesting she couldn't be happier right now.

Bet I could prove that wrong~

I leaned closer to Luz leaving a peck on her cheek. As to my suspicions Luz looked even more excited than she did when I got here. It didn't take long for Luz to be dramatic in her Azura voice and go swoony as always while reading. Nothing short of adorable. After a while of reading something caught Luz's eye. "Hey I think it's raining!"

"Raining? Like boiling rain? Is it dangerous?"

"Nope! It can be calming in a way. Hey I have an idea..." Luz pressed an app on her phone labeled "Spotify"before she took my hand lifting us from our seats and onto the treehouse's balcony the floorboards were already drenched. I flinched back at the rain only for Luz to chuckle and walk around the balcony. "I promise it's alright Amity, come here." Luz stuck her hand out to me water already dripping off her arm.

"Well your skins not burning off so I guess it's safe..." I took Luz's hand again stumbling into the rain. The drops hit me one by one reassuring that they had no effect.

"Care to dance?" Luz grinned at me. As if on cue music started playing from Luz's phone.

"In the rain?"

"Why not?" I smiled wrapping my hand around her waist pulling her closer.

Lus twirled us around for a moment stopping to kiss me. Her hand left mine and went over my shoulder linking with her her other hand behind my neck. We pulled away when we heard a text notification buzz through the music. "Hmph did they have to ruin the fun?" Luz chuckled walking back inside to check her phone.

"Aww man...."

"What is it?"

"Mom wants us to come back cause of the rain." I walked back towards the doorway as Luz set her phone down.

"Already? They really are spoiling the fun." Taking a step closer to Luz I lifted her head kissing her. "Not all of it though." Luz claimed my lips again pushing us against the wall. I wanted to say something but I couldn't pull away.

Luz stepped back releasing me from the wall giggling a little. "Sorry that was a bit....forward" We laughed grabbing our things and heading back.

(Did I give up trying to put Luz's P.O.V. Into this? Yes, yes I did. 😂 Do I have any idea what should next? NOPE! You know just as much as I do! 😅)
