Luz P.O.V.

Amity was drying her hair with a towel when I came into my room. Momentarily blind because of it I decided to surprise her. I leaned as close as I could to Amity without her noticing, quietly whispering. "Hey Darling~" in her ear.

"Wah!" Amity fell backwards landing onto my bed. I burst out laughing Amity laughing with me at some point.

"You good Mi Amor?~"

"I don't know what would've given me a heart attack first you being adorable or you scaring me." Amity chuckled setting the towel down.

"How about you just don't have a heart attack?"

"Fair, but you'll try to give me one anyway." Amity got up sneaking a kiss as she walked by me to take care of her towel. "Unless I give you one first." I giggled sitting down on our bed looking at the empty space where Amity usually sleeps. The disturbing vision of her lifeless body flashing in my mind. Shivering at the thought I looked around for anything to distract myself with. "Luz you're being frantic again. What's wrong?" Amity came in obviously concerned.

"I-it's nothing...you don't need to worry about it."

"Luz you know me by now of course I'm gonna worry about it. Just tell me." Amity sat next to me expectedly. Sighing I put my thoughts together.

"W-when you went unconscious...I really thought you died...I can still see you laying there lifeless in my head. How many times is something terrifying going to happen to us, I mean we probably wouldn't even be in this situation if I didn't fall in love you!" My words came out in a frantic mess. My gaze went to the floor. I wanted to get anything and everything out of my head it wouldn't be good for us if I kept it to myself. "If...if I don't return to the boiling isles and you go back...maybe you'd stop getting hurt and we can go back to living like we used to without each other." Amity had a fearful and shocked look in his eyes. Amity looked away only to look back, however I kept my view locked onto the floor.

What am I even saying? She's not gonna leave I know that. But does it hurt to say it? Gosh why am I acting like this I'm having doubts again? Is it even good for us to be together?

"Luz....how long have you been thinking about this?"

"A while....it's just something that crosses my mind and I can't forget it. I just want to ignore it and enjoy what I have..."

"Sweetheart."Amity grabbed my cheek forcing me to look at her. "Us meeting was no mistake, if anything that's what I'm sure of. Parting from each other wouldn't be good it'd only destroy us emotionally. Take it from someone who's had experience."

"Experience...?"

"With Willow, after I ended our friendship. We never spoke, and I mistreated her,  like a safety. A default when I get scared for things I know I can't control. With you I overlook my fear. I won't go through the pain I had with you. Promise me you'll try to make it through this? No more doubt?"

"No more doubt." Chuckling for a short moment I mimicked Amity placing my hand upon her face. "I promise." I moved my hand to Amity's ear making it twitch before it relaxed.

"What are you doing?" Amity leaned into my touch like a cat would when your petting them.

"Your ears are cute." Amity's ears flinched in reaction as her face went brighter.

"You're such a dork." Amity pulled me closer for a quick kiss. "I love you"

King P.O.V.

"Stupid lovebirds and Eda leaving me with Hooty." I grumbled scurrying across the owl house for a good place to sleep. Unfortunately Hooty wouldn't stop bothering me. "Hooty! Leave me be! I haven't slept for days!"

"You sleep all the time Hoot Hoot~"

"Yeah it's my hobby now go talk to a leaf and eat it or something." I flicked my paw in Hooty's direction. Hooty nodded smooshing himself back into the door only for it to swing open with Hooty in a corkscrew shape. "Unnngh what now Hooty?"

"I found friends in the forest!" Hooty unwinded himself two green haired witches falling to the floor. "There the same witches who helped Luz with Grom I think Hoot Hoot!~" Rolling my eyes I stomped over to the two.

"What do you idiots want?"

"Hey Edric's the idiot!"

"You were the one to say that you could handle the bird tube!" The boy witch grumbled as he got off the floor. The girl witch sticking her tongue at the other while getting up.

"Nobody can handle that wack-job. Now back to my question what do you two want?"

"Amity, our sister we haven't been able to find her for weeks. We saw the Owl Lady and thought she was fine. But it's been a while."

"She's with Luz. In the human world."

"The Human World?!" The witches spoke in unison only adding to my annoyance.

"Yes now I'm gonna go to sleep. Stay if you like I don't care as long as Hooty's not bothering me."

"Wait please do you know how to get to them?"

"The suitcase portal. Just find the key." I scoffed hoping onto the couch and curling into a ball. I closed my eyes only for a moment only to hear some commotion go on. When I opened my eyes the portal was open but it wasn't the green haired witches going into portal. It was Lilith and guards! "Hey! Don't go through tha-!" It was too late the portal had shut and the key was left on the floor the eyeball closed with no sign of it reopening anytime soon. "Holy shit..." I jumped up running to the key.

"Uhh what happened? Hoot~" Hooty opened his door twirling as he got closer.

"You stupid bird brain! How come you didn't tell me they were fakes!"

"I thought it was a fun costume Hoot Hoot!~"

"Eda should have baked you into a pie!"

"Hoooot?~"
