shirabu and kawanishi were starting to regret the decision they'd made in allowing everyone to pile into their dorm to watch a movie and then sleep over. they barely had room for them, though they were very thankful for the extra two rooms they had in the dorm. the sleeping arrangements were as follows.

tendō, ushijima, and semi were to share one of the rooms, yamagata, reon, and soekawa claiming another room. goshiki, sagae, and akakura were to take kawanishi's room — he did not like that at all. kawanishi, shirabu, and kaiya were going to share shirabu's room — the setter and middle blocker the only pair she trusted with her life. semi seemed like he wanted to debate this, but after some thought, it made sense for kaiya to stay in a room with them rather than anyone else. she'd known the two the longest, and it wasn't like they would get into anything- questionable with eleven other guys in the dorm. that left yunohama and shibata to stay in the living room, not that either minded.

with the sleeping arrangements now settled, the boys wanted to start the movie, so that's exactly what they did.

kaiya was still in the kitchen, popping the popcorn that tendō had asked for while also making the icing she'd use to ice the cookies — or maybe she could let the boys ice their own cookies? kaiya had made 42 cookies, so that meant three cookies for each of the boys and herself, and if she pulled them into the kitchen in their sleeping arrangement groups, that left three people in the small kitchen, which felt just the right size for that.

when the timer beeped, kaiya opened the oven, taking out the first batch of cookies, sliding the second batch in, then starting a new timer and placing the fresh cookies on the racks to cool down.

when the microwave beeped not too longer after kaiya had put the cookies into the oven, she stood in the kitchen, confused, before realizing that she was also popping the popcorn tendō had wanted.

then it was time to search. kaiya was already somewhat familiar with the setter and middle blockers kitchen — she came over a lot to cook with them, or to clean for them because she loved everything neat and clean — so she had an idea of where the paper plates might be, but reaching them was a whole other issue.

"hey, kenjirō, i need your help," kaiya called to the setter. he would have got up right away had it just been himself, kawanishi, and kaiya in the apartment, but with eleven other boys now filling the apartment, he was reluctant to relinquish his comfortable seat on the couch.

"someone'll steal my spot though," shirabu called back, the manager only rolling her eyes at the pitiful excuse.

"no they won't, and if they do, they won't get any cookies," kaiya called back. this got the teams attention, none believing that kaiya was withhold her cookies from them if they did something as small as stealing shirabu's seat on the couch. "now get over here right now before i give your cookies to taichi."

kawanishi sent shirabu a triumphant grin, willing the setter to stay in his spot. shirabu shot kawanishi his own look, standing up and heading for the kitchen to help kaiya out with whatever she needed.

"could you grab those plates for me?" she had questioned upon his entrance, smiling softly at the setter in thanks when he replied with a nod. he was only a few inches taller than kaiya — five inches, to be exact — but it was enough height to reach the plates.

kaiya thanked shirabu by giving him a kiss on the cheek before shooing him back into the living room to continue watching the movie with the boys, though he didn't start watching the movie right away. first he stood in the mock dining room, hand cupping his cheek as he stared back at the already busy manager, eyes wide as he tried to wrap his head around what she'd just done. she kissed his cheek in thanks? normally she'd verbally thank him, so what had inclined her to give him a kiss on the cheek in thanks? whatever it was, shirabu wasn't complaining.
