"come on, kenjirō-kun, you know that isn't the worst i've said to you, right?" kaiya called, rolling her eyes at the silent treatment she was receiving from shirabu for what she had said in the group chat.
kawanishi looked helplessly between the two, knowing he could do nothing to get shirabu to talk to kaiya again. after all, shirabu sure knew how to hold a grudge.
"fine, whatever, come find me when you're over this little temper tantrum," kaiya muttered, turning away from the pair in annoyance. she could handle a few days of this silent treatment, after all, she probably knew shirabu's personality the best out of everyone on the team, maybe besides kawanishi, but when it grew to be this excessive, it absolutely annoyed her.
three days, going on four and shirabu still had yet to utter a word to her. he didn't even use kawanishi as a messenger, not like he usually did. knowing that her best friend was ignoring her for what she had said in the chat, it caused kaiya to become annoyed at the setter.
it was just like when they had first met.
flashback.
kaiya had finally received the entrance exam results, it was finally time for her to see if she had gotten into the one school she had been aiming to get into, shiratorizawa. it was the one school in the prefecture that she felt would help her the most when it came time to start college, especially because she already knew what she wanted to major in.
an excited scream sounded throughout the shimizu household, immediately catching the attention of the elder shimizu siblings, the shimizu parents having been out of the house at the time.
kizuki and kiyoko rushed into kaiya's room, looks of worry and curiosity on their faces, respectively. kizuki with a more worried look, kiyoko with a more curious look.
"kaiya, are you okay? are you hurt? did something happen?" kizuki questioned, shooting question after question at the youngest shimizu.
"oh! i'm fine, i'm just really happy! i got into shiratorizawa, and on scholarship," kaiya replied with a bright smile.
kiyoko beamed at her younger sister, rushing into the room to hug her sister happily. "i'm so proud of you! you put so much studying into prepping for this, you deserve it."
kaiya hugged her older sister back happily, tears of excitement starting to fall.

˚ ༘ ♡ ⋆。˚ ❀middle school was finally over and high school was soon to start, which meant kaiya was to move into her new dorm on the shiratorizawa campus real soon.
it wouldn't take her too long, especially with the help of her siblings. all she really needed was to hang her fairy lights, put away her clothes, hang her polaroids, get her bed ready, set up her guitar, and her desk and she was golden.
"thank you so much, onii-chan, nee-chan," kaiya thanked her siblings, hugging both of them before they were about to leave.
exchanging a few more words with her siblings and they were off, probably heading home, leaving kaiya behind to start exploring the shiratorizawa campus and meet her roommates.
