Chapter 12

Cian's Pov.

I was with Grace, yet again, talking about the same boring stuff.

"I got this purse from Prada and these shoes from...," she trailed on and on, as I zoned out. I nodded and looked interested when I wasn't. I looked around for Leila. I growled when I saw her with Blade. I saw her look at me and then Blade look at me. Blade quickly grabbed Leila's hand and pulled her closed. Anger surged through me and I felt my eyes go black for a second. I turned to Grace.

"Excuse me," I mumbled and walked away from her. Blade and Leila walked inside and I followed them stealthily. I blended d in with the crowd of students as I inched towards Leila. They made a sharp turn and walked down the hallway together. I turned also. I followed them and opened my locker when they were at theirs. I grabbed my books and my notebook. I slammed my locker shut and realized I slammed it too hard because the noise echoed through the hallway. All the students looked up and tried to the source of the noise. ‘Dammit!’ I thought in my head.

-Man, that was idiotic.

‘What the-- not you again!’

-Yes, me again.

I looked around. Most of the students have given up trying to find the source and were scrambling to get into their classrooms.

-Hey! Don't ignore me!

‘I can if I want to.’

-Why I outta--.

I shut the voice out. I walked down the hallway and into Mrs. Welish's classroom. I took my seat next to Grace and tried to concentrate on the math. For some weird reason, I couldn't concentrate. Not just on the math but on everything. After math, in gym, I ran when I didn’t need to. In art, I put the paint brushes in the marker bin. In Language arts, I spelled feverishly wrong. In chemistry, I poured the wrong chemical in. Luckily, it didn't explode but I did get an F on the paper. At the end of the day, I couldn't even put my books in my bag correctly. Finally, after five tries, I managed to get my books in my backpack and my locker shut, without slamming it. I sighed. It was a long day and I was starving. I trudged outside and to my car. I was surprised to see, Avon, my vampire friend in the passenger seat. I opened the driver's door.

"Jesus Christ, man, you've let yourself go," He said shaking his head laughing. I slid into the seat and started the car.

"Not even a hello?" Avon asked. I looked at him.

"Idiot," I mumbled and closed the door. I pulled out of the parking space and drove through the parking lot trying to find the exit.

"Man, you're in a grumpy mood today," Avon chuckled. I finally got to the exit and managed to drive out of the school grounds.

"I fucking hate this school," I grumbled to Avon. He looked back at it.

"Yeah, I would too," he laughed.

"I'm starving."

"Me too. Let's go grab something to eat," Avon replied. I sped up and slid into a parking space in front of a practically deserted reservation. We got out and started to walk towards the park.
