"Thank you. I don't know why you feel low about your appearance when you are very beautiful and your soul is nothing less than a diamond; flawless and pure. It's worth all the beauty in the world", saying this Will planted a small kiss on her neck just below her left ear and stood to face her.

Ella was dumbstruck. This man was trying his best to sugarcoat his words and was even getting successful in his attempt to make her drag herself to her ill fate of getting publicly humiliated. Still she couldn't help but give second thoughts about the purity of the man's words and actions.

Ella was going crazy. Why would any sane person go overboard to ask her out when their better half was out there waiting for them? Her head had started thrumming with a mild headache. It was too much to bear all of a sudden in her love-less life.

"You need to get yourself a massage once at least. Helping oneself should come before helping others", said Will as he helped her to a leather sofa.

He quickly got dressed and they both walked out of Rhapsody together. Though they were a feet apart physically, their mind and heart were seemingly inching closer by the minute.

When they were finally out on the street Will parted ways by saying that he would send a message to her workplace tomorrow about the whereabouts of the party and she need not worry about it.

As they said goodbye Ella couldn't help but glance back at his retreating profile and one of his hands raking through the luscious black hair on his head. She could almost tell that he was smiling. She was happy to lend happiness to someone but she doubted whether his joy was genuine or fake just like the appealing flowers at the reception of Rhapsody.

As much as she hated pretense and flattery, she couldn't help but like him.

After a long time Ella felt a thrill flowing through her veins. She found herself writing about how to train adopted and street dogs and strays in detailed first person narrative. It contained Ella's first hand account of her life with her dogs and her journal of all the steps that made her a dog whisperer.

Also for the first time in her life of 23 years, Ella found herself not sulking over romance novels and happily- ever-afters.

But how much ever hard Ella thought, she couldn't place the fact that why any man would go out of his way and invite a stranger when his life was full. Either he was a player who specialised in sweet-talking or he was genuinely a good person.

Still, his words and gestures pointed to the second possibility and Ella fell asleep over her couch thinking about Will.
