Amity's POV

I was walking beside Luz as the bells chimed in signaling for kids to go home, I slung my bag over my shoulders and followed her out of Hexside. "Hey Luz?", I asked trying to get her attention, as I studied the foreign looking note that Luz had slipped to me earlier, it read, 'Te amo Amity'.

"¿Qué?", she said, which sounded like a question but it was something that I had never heard before. I just brushed it off and asked, "What does this note say?", I held up the note and I watched as her smile grew as we continued to walk.

"Te amo Amity", she replied, the different accent was crystal clear and it sounded a lot different then what I had thought it said. "Huh?", I said a lot more confused now, I didn't know what Te amo meant, and she excepts me to know!

"Sígueme", she said as she grabbed onto one of my hands and led me somewhere. Once we had gotten to where she wanted we both stopped and I watched as she sat down, so I followed suit and did the same. I looked around us and saw the bright green trees that had surrounded us, we were the only ones here.

"Luz if I may ask, what are you speaking?", I asked my curiosity peaked at this point, cause if she is going to continue to speak like this, I want to have some understanding. I watched her eyes widen and she looked super excited after my curiosity had gotten the best of me and caused me to ask her a question.

"Estoy hablando español", she said as she slightly laughed, I was now determined to learn whatever she was speaking. "español?", I said trying to repeat exactly what she was saying, and she nodded her head, I must have repeated the name of the language.

"Spanish", I heard her whisper under her breathe, her caramel eyes were still on me though, and they hadn't left for even a second. I held the eye contact before saying, "So español is spanish", I was probably too confident in myself, but that wouldn't stop me. I may have a soft spot for Luz too but my pride will always get the best of me.

"Sí", she said while nodding, I suppose she was saying something along the lines of yes or correct. "What does the note say though?", I asked again, my eyes shifting to her bright smile as her hair moved slightly with the wind, only distracting me for a little bit.

"Te amo Amity", she said, while pointing to herself then making a heart with her hands then pointing towards me, her face was slightly flushed. It took me a minute but I finally realized what she had been saying, she was saying that she loved me. My whole face flushed and I covered it with my hands as I screamed out, "Luz!".

I listened to her bubbly laugh as I freaked out before I said "Te amo también Luz", and I watched as her face dropped then it lit up again, then she started freaking out in spanish, "OH MI DIOS OH MI DIOS ¿CÓMO HAS APRENDIDO ESPAÑOL QUE RÁPIDO", I started to laugh before I pulled out my phone and scratched the back of my neck while I mumbled out, "I translated it".

I watched as she calmed herself down and she said, "oh!", then she started to laugh again, I'm assuming at herself. I ended up pocketing the note before I stood up and lent my hands out to help up Luz, and she grabbed onto them and I pulled her up to her feet smoothly. "Debí saber que lo ibas a traducir", she mumbled as she wrapped her arms around my shoulder and we started walking out of the wooded area.

"Hey just cause I know like three words doesn't mean you can start talking in all this Spanish", I laughed out as I laced my hands with hers. She looked down at me slightly before she started laughing, you could slightly hear the accent in her laugh but you really had to search for it.

"Lo siento, Amor", she said as she twirled me around slightly, which cause me to lose my balance and fall. Classic Amity. Always falling in love again and becoming the clumsiest thing alive. I looked up at Luz, she was in a really bad laughing fit to the point where she couldn't help me up to my feet.

With a sigh, I stood up to my feet and brushed off my skirt before crossing my arms over my chest and waiting for Luz to finish laughing. I have to admit though I did break out into a smile every now and then when she would snort because of the continuous laughter, but I tried to hold my poker face.

After she finished her episode she wiped the tears from her cheeks and met with my eyes, I was shooting daggers in her direction. "¡Siento, aquí déjeme tomarle en algún sitio diversión!", she squealed out causing me to jump as she grabbed onto my hand and started to power walk out of the woods leading me back into the main street of the Boiling Isle.

We went up to a man who was selling hotdogs and as Luz browsed the hotdogs he had I started to grow weary that nobody would know what she was saying. "Dos perros calientes por favor", she said out to the man as she pointed to the plain hotdogs. The man looked from Luz to me then back to Luz before giving me a strange look. Just as I feared, he had no idea what Luz was saying.

"Um...", I started trying to figure it out until I realized what she was pointing at, "Oh, she says that she want's two plain hotdogs", I finished before giving a very underconfident smile. The man nodded before pulling out the hotdogs and handing each of us one, and with the Luz turned around and walked away smiling, so I followed her.

"Perro caliente", she said as she lifted up the hotdog a bit before taking a bite. "So perro caliente means hotdog...", I said looking over for approval from Luz and like that she smiled and nodded her head, "Sí". I watched Luz's eyes as they searched and then landed on a bench so she beckoned me with her hand to follow her to the bench to sit down so I did.

I sat down next to her and watched as her eyes sparkled with each bite she took and I couldn't help but be curious. "So have you spoke Spanish your whole life?", I asked as I set down the hotdog not really interested in eating it. "Sí, pero tuve que aprender inglés cuando mi mamá y yo nos mudamos a América", she said slowly and I started to feel bad for not understanding anything that she had said.

"Sorry I only caught the 'yes' part", I mumbled out as I watched Luz finish her hotdog and she seemed to be at ease. I watched as she wiped her face and she leaned back against the bench and she pulled her knees up into a criss cross position. "Estás bien Amity, ya sea que sepas español o no, eres perfecto", she smiled out as she leaned her head against my shoulder.

I pushed the hotdog off the bench for some bird looking thing to eat and I wrapped my arms around Luz and started to feel even more guilty, "I wish I knew more Spanish though...". I felt Luz shift a bit in her seat before whispering back, "No importa, eres perfecto pase lo que pase".

"That's the problem!", I said before I started laugh crying, "I don't know whether you're insulting me or telling me everything's fine". I pulled my arm out from around Luz and drowned my face in my hands as the tears started to pour from my face, I started to feel weak and helpless.

I could feel Luz's presence tense up at my sudden outburst and I don't blame her, I was a wreck. Soon enough I felt Luz scoop my face in her hands and she gave me a reassuring smile as she wiped away the tears with her thumb, it was comforting. "No te preocupes por eso, no te estoy insultando, nunca lo haría", she said, it sounded soothing, but I still couldn't tell.

I lifted my eyes to meet hers and I saw how soft her eyes looked, she was definitely not insulting me, at least right now she isn't. "Eres hermosa, inteligente, y tienes mucho que ofrecer, por favor no estés triste", she mumbled out as her accent sounded a lot more rich, it caused a shiver to go down my spine.

"Te amo, Amity", she said as she wiped the rest of the tears off of my face and I could feel my heartbeat start to speed up. I knew what she was saying it was the same thing that she wrote in the note. She was saying that she loved me. That was all that mattered was that she loved me. I knew exactly what to say back, cause I learned something.

"Te amo también Luz".
