I stood in front of my new house. Except it was nothing like a home, it would never be. I picked up a few pieces of luggage and dropped them into my new room. It wasn't that big but it wasn't very small either. I quickly started to fill the walls with posters of many people I admired. I unpacked my clothes and got everything organzied to my liking. I pulled my hair into a tight bun as I went to go put up the last poster of my idol, Marilyn Monroe. The sleeves of my long sleeve shirt started to ride up revealing the bruisemarks.
I quickly put my arms down and sat down on my bed. How could my life get like this? Moving across the world from the United States to Australia? Having my mom leave me when i was ten and having my father raise me meanwhile he was a belligerent drunk who only cared about how much money he had in his pocket for beer. I went back down into the living room where my father sat watching the lastest sporting game.
"Hey dad. I'm going out for a bit. To check out the neighborhood. I'm taking the car."
"No you're not taking the car I might need it."
"But you're watching the game..."
"I might need it Juliet. You're so inconsiderate. You can walk it's not dark yet."
I didn't want to argue, it could result in another injury for me. I walked out the door and down a couple of block until I came across a park. I sat on a bench admiring the beauty of the flowers. All of a sudden to girls came up to me.
"Hi I'm Bryanna and this is my friend Lauren. We're doing a photography project and we need to take a picture of a human being that isn't ourselves weird right? But we were wondering if we could take your picture?"
"Sure! I'd love to help."
I smiled brightly as they handed me a flower. I started posing as they took picture. It turns out I enrolled in the same school as them. After they got a picture we all started talking and hanging out. We went to go get ice cream when Bryanna stopped and looked at her phone. She started freaking out and then passed the phone to Lauren who looked like she was going to cry.
"Guys, what are you doing?"
"The Janoskians just posted a new daresundays video!"
"Who are the Janoskian?"
"They are five boys who live here in Melbourne. They do all types of crazy things and they are the funniest people ever!"
Bryanna handed me her phone as I watched a video of 6 boys doing the 3 LItre milk challenge. I couldn't help but laugh. These guys were probably the funniest people I've ever watched. I continusly laughed as they showed me other videos. One thing I could say is that the Janoskians definitely made my day a little bit brighter.
