"Lee...I..."
Hikaru bit his lip and groaned quietly, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
For three straight hours he was practicing what to say, either messing up or coming up with something impractical.
"Cod, how do humans do this?!"
He had actually asked his brother for tips on this, which was a mistake. Tikore was kind of like Karkat.
Too. Many. Fucking. Romcoms.
Now, the poor thing was just overwhelmed and confused.
"I have to make a speech on why I love him, but I can't think-"
Violin music shifted through the air suddenly, playing a recognisable song.
Clarity.
Tikore stood in the doorway, smiling to his brother before closing his eyes, violin in hand.
Apparently the other thought this was appropriate. Which it kind of was.
Piano flooded in along with the strings, Pikachu playing in the other room. Tikore had taught him the song earlier.
They planned to help Hikaru, at least help him be able to think.
Which they were.
Hikaru blinked at Tikore before taking a deep breath, twirling a small velvet box in his hands.
"Lee, you've made my meaningless life so much better, so much brighter than it originally was. And the fact that we're going to have a family together, it makes me smile every time. The thought of you and a small grub that belongs to both of us, it's so unreal. This is something I never thought would happen. When I had first met you, first saw you, I could feel my heart ache. You were a broken angel whose descent from heaven wasn't all to pleasant and I wanted to fix you, to mend your wings so you were able to return. Until, you stole my heart, because than I didn't want to let you go. I still don't. I want to keep you forever, to hold you in my arms, to see you smile, to hear your giggles. I want all of that. Even if it makes me sound selfish, it's true. I want everything I can possibly have with you. I want to make you happy. To keep you happy. To show you things you've never had the chance to experience with another. And I promise not to leave you like him. I will stay by your side for as long as you'll have me. Even though I don't deserve anyone as perfect as you, not now, not in a million sweeps."
He bit his lip and flushed slightly, getting down on one knee and opening the box. Inside it laying a beautifully engraved silver ring, the words themselves a light indigo shade.
The words engraved upon it read; Forever, you now shall be the only one with the key to my heart.
"But, I'll ask anyways in high hopes because I love you. Honestly and truly I do, more so than I ever thought was possible. Lee Makara, my angel, my beautiful angel, will you spend eternity with me and marry me~?"
