Chapter 2: Protect & Defend

The Next Day/No One's POV:

Tabitha wakes up the next morning shaking in fear. She looked up and saw Misako sitting on the bed. Nya, Pixal, Lloyd, and Jay were with her.

"Morning sis'." Nya says kneeling down to face her sister. "Are you okay? You look like you had a nightmare."

Tabitha shakes her head. "No, I'm fine." She lies, faking a smile. It was true that she had a nightmare. She dreamed that Yugataro came to the monastery and killed everyone, only leaving her alone if she became his bride. Tabitha shook the dream from her head and got up. She folded her quilt and sent it back to her room using teleportation.

"Zane's making French toast." Jay says to lighten up the mood.

"That nice." Tabitha says sweetly. "You guys meet me in the kitchen, I'm gonna get dressed. Okay?"

They nod their heads, and leave the room, but before they leave Jay tells Tabitha that Master Wu is letting her take the day off from training, but expects her to be ready for tomorrow. She nods her head, and he leaves the room.

Tabitha sighs and teleports her clothes from her room to Cole's. She puts on a blue shirt with cropped sleeves, a pair of khaki overalls, her rainbow knee socks, plus her favorite Velcro sneakers. And to top it off she put on her favorite blue and yellow beanie hat with a lemon pin attached. She brushes her hair a puts it in a long waist-length ponytail. She places her headphones around her neck and her phone in her front overall pocket. The ring was still on her finger, and shined whenever the light hit the diamond.

As she was about to leave she looks back and grabs her teddy bear, smiling at the memory of when she first got it. It was an old medium-sized bear she had gotten from when she first started living with the ninja. That was when she was seven, and way before she and Lloyd got in contact with a tea that makes you older. It was her first present she had ever received in her life, and Cole was the one who bought it for her. Back then he was her protector, and the one she first saw when she used to live on the streets.

As she kept on going through "memory lane", she heard Zane calling her. Telling her that breakfast was ready.

"Oh, I'M COMING!" Tabitha tells him, put the bear back on the bed.

"YOU BETTER BE!" Zane calls back.

Tabitha laughs, and runs out the room and into the dining room. Everyone is at the table eating their breakfast when she gets there. And once everyone sees her, they compliment her on how she looks and ask her how she's feeling.

"Wow, look at you!" Kai says, winking at her.

"Good morning Tabitha. How are you feeling?" Master Wu asks his niece.

"You look great Tabitha!" Pixal compliments.

She smiles and thanks them for their compliments, tells them that she feeling better, and starts to eat her breakfast.

"Where's Skylor?" Tabitha asks, cutting her French toast.

"Oh— she went back to the noodle shop." Jay says. "'It's not gonna run itself' she said." The nature ninja laughs, and starts to eat her food.

"I noticed that you put the ring on," Zane remarks cautiously, "if you don't mind me saying." The nindroid sat down at the table, still wearing the pink apron she had seen him wear for years.

Tabitha stops to chew and swallow her breakfast. "Yeah I decided that I should wear it in his honor. You know like a tribute." She states, looking at the ring she was wearing on her right ring finger. "It's my way of remembering him, knowing that he loved me and I love him."
