Chapter 3: Engaged Prisoner

Yugataro's POV:

I wake up to my usual alarm, which is an old phone I stole, after attacking a group of middle-aged men out of the woods. Nearly killing them. It goes off as soft chime bells blowing in the wind. Hitting the stop button, I'm still surprised that I was able to reset everything, and recode it so those pestering ninja couldn't track me.

I stand up a light a couple candles in my huge cave, with the little amount of matches that I have left. After I use the last one I walk to a broken mirror against the wall. I smirk coldly at my reflection, realizing today's the day that I steal the ninja's pride and joy.

When I first met them, they didn't like me from the start, because I somehow murdered their brother, Cole. But of course they didn't listen when I told them that I didn't know what they were talking about. So I flew away taking a heart shaped Aurora Green diamond ring.

I go to my bed — which is actually a boulder shaped into a bed — and take a small green box with a black ribbon attached to it. Inside it was the ring I was going to use to propose to Tabitha with.

I know she's going to refuse, but I won't give her a choice. And while I was sleeping, I overheard Tabitha and her family punishing her. Then I heard footsteps running away from the closed entrance of one of my caves I call home.

Yes, I don't have one place in which I call "home". I actually have two. This is just my main base. And after I take Tabitha, instead of taking her here, I'll take her to my other one.

"I should probably get going." I say to myself, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I blow all the candles out, and place the box in my pocket. I go to the closed entrance, and use my powers to make a hole in the wall, big enough for me to walk through.

When I'm out, I reseal the entryway. I run a couple steps, then jump into the air. Spreading my huge, dark, dragon wings, and I fly into the deep, dark woods. Following the scent of the girl whom I prey on.

No One's POV:

Tabitha had been running for almost an hour, when she noticed a small campfire. When she reached the fire, a small family of a mother, father, and three kids (2 boys, 1 girl), looked up and saw the nature ninja in shock.

"Tabitha! What are you doing here?" The father asks her, rushing to help the nature ninja up. "You're out of breath, you need water. Pearl grab her a water bottle!"

The wife runs to their cooler and grabs a nice cold water bottle. Tabitha thanks them, and is led by the father towards a picnic bench. She sits down, pulls her mask down and takes a big sip of the water.

"Sweetheart, What are you doing here?" The mother asks her, sitting to her right. She put a hand on top Tabitha's hand. "You're not supposed to be out here all alone, Yugataro is after you!" She says her voice quivering at the mention of the beast's name.

"How do you know... that he's after me?" The ninja asks the family, still panting after the long run.

"It was all over the news." The father says, sitting on Tabitha's left.

"But how come you guys are camping when there's a monster on the loose?" She asks them quizzically.

"Well, Yugataro doesn't seem to bother campers with small children." The mother admits. "And besides; our house is only a mile away, so if he does come, we can easily drive home."

"Mom~ we're not that little!" The little boy in a baseball cap whines.

"Oh hush Tyler. You're still my little babies!" The mother teases Tyler and her two other kids. They groan in embarrassment and Tabitha giggles.
