It's been a week and I still can't get her out of my head and I don't know what to do about it.
I was planning to ask Margo about her or maybe about her guy friends that were here with her in restaurant, maybe there's a chance she knows one of them. But still, I don't know if I'm able to talk to her for more than 5 minutes.Later
"Margo?" I whispered when I entered empty kitchen in restaurant.
"Yeah?"
"I need help," I sat on the chair next to her.
"Yeah what's up?" she locked her phone and put it on kitchen counter, I was really surprised, she almost never does it when I talk to her.
"Do you remember my first day here? And our first customers? Three boys and girl?"
"Do you want to find the girl?" she surprised me with this question.
"How do you know?"
"Honey, I know you too well already."
"So do you know her?"
"I've never seen her but I think that one guy there was Brandon and he lives in Highland Park, that tall guy with brown hair, maybe Lucas knows him he lives in Highland Park too, do you want his number?"
"Yes, thank you sooo much," I said and immediately grab my phone and handed it to Margo.
"No problem, I hope you find her," she smiled and left the kitchen.
Me: Hey Lucas, it's me Grace, Margo gave me your number and I hope you still remember me from the party. Listen I need little help, I need to find this one guy his name is Brandon, tall with brown hair, dark skin, and he lives in Highland Park, is there any chance you know someone like this?"
I hid my phone in my pocket and go back to Margo and make sure everything's is ready so we can open the restaurant.
I went back to the kitchen and when I opened the door I got a new notification on my phone.Lucas: hiii :) of course i remember you Grace you're our new friend i hope you know that already :) yes i know him a little bit, but i know his best friend Chris better.
i don't think i have his number but maybe you could ask him he works in Pet Center near Newton Park.I am really looking for this girl all over the city so I could talk to her. Am I crazy? Should I really go find Chris and start asking questions about her? Fuck I'm so confused right now.
Next day
Me: Hey, are you free? I need to take a walk to Newton Park, like right now.
Margo: honey but that's like 2,5 hours of walking to get there. I can't go right now - need to help my mom, but Sam will take you there
Me: You sure?
Margo: yeah he'll text you. I'll let him know.
Me: Thank you sooo much, I'll buy you dinner istg
After a few moments I got new notification from Sam, I immediately saved his number.
Sam: Hellooo, I'll be there in 15
Me: Thank youuuu
It took him about 10 minutes, you can really say he's sweetheart, he doesn't even know me, but he still said yes without hesitation.
I heard car honking outside so I took my jacket and run through to door to Sam's car.
"Hellooooo," Sam said the second I opened car door with big smile on his face
"Hii," I said when i sat next to him.
"Ready?"
"Yes, so do you know where?"
"Yeah Margo told me, you really like this girl huh? So how long do you know each other?"
"Like 5 minutes," I chuckled nervously.
"Wow, that's fast," he chuckled with me.
"So you know where it is?"
"Yeah, I was there last week to buy my dog some treats," he smiled when he mentioned his dog.
"What dog do you have? I've always wanted dog."
"Black and white chihuahua, he's the cutest," he showed me his phone and his lock screen, it was picture of him and his dog.
"He looks so cute!"
"Thank you," he was really happy I said that.
After 15 minutes
"We're here," he said when he pulled over in front of the pet shop.
"I don't really know if it's good idea, you know."
"I think that you should try it, there's nothing you should be afraid of."
"Yeah maybe, maybe I should," I said and left the car, then I entered the shop.
When I opened the door there was no one there so I waited near the cash register, but when this boy appeared, I was 100% sure I saw him with her at the restaurant my first day.
"Can I help you?"
"I- uhm, you are Chris right?"
"Yes?"
"This might sound strange but I just wanna ask about Kylie, you know her right?"
"What do you want?" he said and his face changed the second I said her name. He didn't look very happy.
"Uhm, I just wanna ask where I can find her, I really need to uhm- to talk to her," I said nervously.
"She moved out of the city, if that's everything you can buy something or leave," he said with angry face and pointed his finger at the door.
"Oh. O-okay, sorry for bothering," I said and I could feel how my heart dropped when I heard that. Yes I'm stupid because I don't even know her. I left the shop immediately and sat in the car.
"So?" Sam asked excitedly.
"He said she moved out," I stared blankly out of the window.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," he put his arm on my shoulder.
"It's okay, I know i don't know her but it felt like I did, she felt like someone special, but that doesn't matter, she is not living here anymore, let's go home," I looked at him with fake smile.
"Let's get some coffee and it'll be okay, I promise," he said with his warm smile.
