Kylie's pov
"You said what?" I looked at Chris with angry expression on my face.
"It'll be good for you," he said and sat on the chair in front of me.
"What the hell were you thinking? She didn't do anything wrong Chris," I slightly raised my voice.
"You haven't get over your previous relationship and you want me to watch you ruin yourself all over again?"
"I'm not gonna ruin myself," I said but this time with calm voice.
"Then you're gonna ruin her," he said and left me alone in the kitchen.
Chris is my roommate, together with Tyler and Brandon. Chris is 23 and he mostly takes care of the money, he's working in pet shop. Tyler is 22 and works in a cinema and Brandon is also 22 and he works as pizza delivery guy and I'm supposed to go to school but I don't really care about it. I don't really care about anything to be honest.
They're like my brothers, I know Chris for 10 years. They were living together for 4 years already, I just moved in one year ago when my stupid dad packed my stuff and left me the day I turned 18, boys were my only chance. The only thing I can think about lately is the tension between us when I was cleaning her shirt at the party.
Now she's asking about me and that idiot blow her away."Hey you good?" Brandon asked me when he entered the kitchen.
"Yeah absolutely," I faked my smile.
"Nah," he said and hugged me from behind.
"I met this girl at the party, she's also the waitress in Botanica and she is cute as hell and she was at Chris's job to ask about me and he blew her away and said that I moved away from the city."
"Botanica? I know one girl who works there."
"Who?"
"This girl with red hair, Margaret I guess"
"Can you take me there?"
"I don't know if it's good idea, what about Lauren?"
"What about her?"
"You didn't hear?" my heart stopped beating when I heard that.
"What?"
"She broke up with Stacey and she moved back."
"When?"
"Three days ago," he said with sad expression on his face.
"Well I don't care, I don't want to see her again, no matter what. So take me there now."
"You sure?"
"Yes of course"
Later
We entered the restaurant and I immediately saw girl with red hair so I got closer to her.
"Hey you're Margaret?" she didn't look at me but when I said her name she locked her eyes with me.
"Margo, what do you want?"
"Sorry, my friend Brandon," I pointed my finger at Brandon who was waiting outside the restaurant, "said your name wrong," I said not breaking an eye contact.
"That's okay, so what do you need?" she smiled
"Is your friend Grace working here?"
"Oh you're Kylie right? She was looking for you everywhere."
"Really?"
"Yes she is constantly talking about you, she wanted to take a walk from Silver Lake to Highland Park to just talk to your friend about you."
Wow. So maybe she felt the tension too.
"Is she here now?"
"No, she isn't working today, but I can give you her address but you have to promise me I didn't tell you this."
"No, I won't I promise," the happiness I was feeling in my body was huge.
She pulled out paper block from her apron and she wrote down Grace's address and handed me the piece of paper.
"There you go," she smiled "she'll be very shocked, I'm so happy," her smile grew bigger.
"Thank you," I smiled at her and left the restaurant.
"I have her address!" i shouted at Brandon when I sat in his old truck.
"You sure you want to go?"
"Hundred percent sure."
"Let's go then," he said and started the engine.
5 minutes later
"Okay stop here," I said when I saw correct numbers on her house.
"This old house?"
"Have you seen our house? You don't even care about how bad our front door looks," I angrily looked at Brandon.
"Nice brown color, what's wrong with that?" he asked confused.
"That door was yellow when I moved in," I said and left the car.
When I stepped on white boards they loudly cracked under my feet.
I loudly knocked on the door and I waited for response. I decided to sit on little stairs on their porch. Then I heard that someone opened the door and I looked who was standing there.
I felt butterflies. Same butterflies i felt at the party.
