We walked almost for the whole day. The sun was already setting and thankfully we found a good spot in the woods to stay. William and Elizabeth are still nowhere to be seen. I'm honestly getting worried and I just want to find them so that everything will be at ease.
I am currently, making the fire with wood. Zen has some bread in his bag. We are eating that for the night. It's not much but it's better than nothing. We can just go for a hunt but there aren't many animals in these woods apparently. Vampires are supposed to feast on blood but never once have I crave for it.
I know It is really weird for a vampire to say that but it is the truth. I guess I have really good self-control.
"Done" I blow onto the smoke and fire appears.
"Here" he hands me some bread and I take it. I put it in my move devouring it. This is the best bread ever! I gulp everything and put my hand on my stomach. "I think I ate too fast"
He just sighs and shakes his head. I feel a burp coming and soon enough, a loud burp comes out of my mouth making my stomach feel better. "I can do louder," He says and burps directly in my face.
"EW" I shout. "Not in my face! I could smell everything!" He laughs almost tumbling backward. I wave my hands in the, hoping the smell will go away.
He slowly stops laughing and catches his breath. I roll my eyes and lay myself down on the ground on my back. I let my eyes wonder into the night sky above me. I hear some movements before Zen lies next to me.
"I never got to ask" I say as I stare at the sky. "Are you a vampire?" There was silence. I turn my head to look at him. He takes a deep breath. "Yea kind off"
"What do you mean kind off?" I frown and look into his eyes for an answer. He takes a breath again and looks at the sky. "I'm a Hybird"
"A Hybird?" I raise my eyebrows. I have never met a hybird before. They are powerful and very rare.
"Yes-" He pauses and continues. "- My Father was a werewolf while my mother was a vampire and they had me" He looks back at me.
"Wow" I breathe. Its also amazing that he is opening up to me more.
"What's so amazing about that?" He says a little sadder. Why is he sad? Hybirds are very powerful!
"You have both Vampire and werewolf abilites!" I exclaim but he still looks sad.
"I know and that is what makes it worst" He forwns and sits up. I frown as well and sit up.
"What makes you say that?" I say feeling my chest tighten.
"It was a mistake" He frowns deeper. I touch his shoulder causing this electric current flow through me and I flinch back. He turns around and look at me. I shake the feeling away. "I'm the mistake" He continues. I try to reach my hand out to comfort him but he pushes my hand away.
"You are not" I say with my voice slightly quivering. I can't let him say those things. Those things are not true.
"I am" He says and lie back down on the floor, facing his back at me.
"You are not a mistake Zen. No one is" My chest tightens again. He doesn't turns around and says "Forget it"
"No I'm not gonna forget it!" I frown and pull his body back so that his back is on the ground and my face is above him. "You are not a mistake okay?!" I say close to his face and he puts his hands on my shoulders pushing me back and he sits up. "Enough" He says lowly.
I whine. "No please, I want to help you-"
"ENOUGH" He shouts making me flinch back. His voice echos through the woods, making some birds fly away. His eyes weren't emerald anymore. They were pitch black. My heart pound like I am running. I move myself backwards. In this brief silence, his eyes slowly goes back to normal and he shakes his head.
"I'm sorry" He says with a hurt expression and stands up. My breathing steadies as I notice his eyes went back to normal. "I-" He pauses. "- I have to go" and with that he leaves me alone.
Zen's POV
Shit! I messed up. I can't believe I just scared my mate. Now she is going to think I'm a monster. I curse under my breath as I ran through the woods. I stop to catch my breath. I sit down and lean my back against the tree. I can feel a mixture of pain and regret in my chest. I curse again and tears starts to fall from my eyes.
"Zen?" I Hear a familiar voice. I shot my head up to meet Williams huge eyes.
I jump up from the ground surprised. "William?" Elizabeth come from behind him and gives me a brief hug. "I can't believe it. I actually found you" William starts laughs like a crazy man and I gave him a weird look.
"wait" William pauses and looks closer at my face. I back away "what?"
"Were you crying?" William says and I quickly wipe my tears.
"No" I lie.
"Hm" He raises an eyebrow. "Anyway where is Kalee?"
"Oh she's-" I was going to tell them where she was but suddenly I get bad feeling in my gut.
"Where?" William asks again. I ignore him and ran as fast as I could through the woods. I reach our spot but she was gone. I look left and right but there were no signs of her.
"What's happening Zen? Where is Kalee?" Williams voice becomes serious.
"Shit. I don't know if someone got her or she ran away" I put my hand on my head. I curse under my breath.
"You mean you left her alone?" William asks and I already know I'm going to get a big scolding.
"Wait hear me out. I scared her. It was my fault and than I left-" I say panicking and William stops me. " God..." he breaths and pinches his eyebrows together.
Elizabeth goes to see if there was any foot trails.
"Okay. I don't know what you did but first we need to find her asap" William claps his hand together and starts shouting for Kalee.
"Kalee!?" I shout joining William. She shout and shouted for hours but there was no sign of her. I felt so bad. "This is all my fault" I say feeling hurt.
"It's not time to be sulky. Let's keep looking" William puts his hands on my shoulder and walks ahead. I took a deep breath and put my feelings behind. I grab my bag and followed them.
It's still dark but there is no time for resting. Kalee is in danger.
