Chapter 14

As the soldiers run down, I could feel the ground shake. Anxiety fills me. I squeeze my hands that are shaking. I have no idea what to do. I can't do this without my grandfather, my sister, or my parents. Elizabeth holds my hand in hers and she gives it a little squeeze. " Don't be scared. We will help you" She smiles making me feel a bit more relaxed. Every minute we stand herE. They come closer.

I frown. "Beth," I say shakily. "I'm sorry"

"Why are you sorry?" She tilts her head, her face was full of hurt.

"All of this happened because of me" I frown trying to hold my tears back. This isn't fair, They are protecting me for something that is not their fight but mine. I look at Zen and William struggling to stay alive. "Everyone is hurt because of me"

My heart clenches and pain fills me. It's all my fault. Elizabeth was about to say something but I ran in front of the thousand soldiers who were now meters away from me. In that few seconds of death. I close my eyes and everything feels like time stopped. I take a deep breath slowly putting my anxiety away. I clench the necklace that hung around my neck with my hands tightly. Flashbacks of people dying while I held on to my sister's hand tightly. The world has fallen into depression because of him. And what was I doing? I was wasting my life away, hiding. I'm not going to hide anymore. I have a country to save.

All of a sudden I feel the power in me grow. I open my eyes to see, golden lights surrounding me. I shout at the top of my lungs and smash the ground. The floor shakes and a huge crack in the ground appears. The ground breaks and drops. Every soldier starts to drop as well. Some manage to cross over. I flare my fangs at them and push them off the edge. The castle crumbles and starts to falls. I got distracted by It and someone pulls me down with him.

I manage to hold onto a rock and kick him off me. He falls to the pitch of darkness. I grab another rock I could find and jump my way out.

"William!' I shout. He turns around and runs to me.

"What was that?" he raises his eyebrows.

"I don't know. I've never felt this power in my life before." I say, surprised myself. "Where is Seth?"

"That coward ran away," He spits. He pushes me and kicks someone that was going to strangle me from behind.

"Thanks-" I look back to see that he saved me."-I'm going to find him!" I tap his shoulder and ran. I jump over broken building pieces on the ground. I feel my ponytail dropping as I ran. I take the band out, letting my hair dropdown. My eye catches Seth running away. I Jump and flew over him. I land on the sandy ground and he stops almost sliding towards me.

"Running away?" I smirk. "Are you afraid?"

"Never," He says in a high tone and laughs. My eye catches something in his hand. He was holding a clay container. I smell blood. Is that my blood?

"What's that you are holding?" I ask. He gives a toothy smile. "Oh nothing in particular"

"Smells like my blood" I raise an eyebrow. "You really want that much power?" I frown. He doesn't say anything and jumps over my head. "Hey!" I shout. I run after him and pull him back by his shirt. He falls back to the ground. I look at my hands, "Where did this power come from" I say out loud.

"That is your true power" He grunts as he gets up. "Your eyes don't turn red but golden because golden represents the power of a legendary warrior." He smirks and holds onto the clay jar closer to him. Does that mean I am stronger than him? He notices that I am lost in my thoughts and points a white wooden thing at me but I manage to dodge it. It looks like he cut a fat piece of wood off a tree. It is spotted with a darker shade around it.

"Poison sword" I gasp. I have never seen one before in real life. Only in paintings. I thought the trees were all cut down? These things can kill me.

"Scared now?" He smirks and tries to stab me. I jump avoiding it. He chases me as I run and jump over falling buildings that were tumbling down. This whole city is recked. There isn't anyone else here thankfully. I slip on one of the building pieces and fall on my back. I roll onto the floor. The dust from the floor rises to cause me to cough.

He took the opportunity to pin me down. He forcefully tries to stab my chest but I put my hand in a cross shape to block him. I put in all my strength and push him off me. He slides on the ground and I quickly get up on my feet. I hear Zen's screams coming all from the other side. My heart drop. His hurt. The first thing I do was to jump over Seth and ran. "Zen I'm coming!" I shout as loud as I could.

I was suddenly punched in the face and pinned to the ground.

"What happened to your strength?" Seth laughs. I try to struggle out of his hold but I felt weak.

"I see.." He breathes. " You care for him deeply" I ignore him and try to free my hands and legs from his hold. "He's your mate," He says making me stop struggling. mate? What's a mate?

"Don't touch her!" I hear Zen but later it turns into cries of pain.

"ZEN" I scream. My eyes start to water and tears fall out of my eyes. "zen.." I cry

"Oh wow. Seeing you in pain is hilarious" Seth laughs loudly. I try to lift my head to peek to the side. Elizabeth was on the floor unconscious. William too.

"No" I cry. I can't see zen but hear his body drop to the floor. "No" I breathe. I cannot hear any of their heartbeats "No" I repeat. "YOU SON OF A BITCH" I scream and push him so hard. He flies and hits scarlet. They both fly and crash into the wall. The sky starts to thunder and rainfalls. I can feel anger ragging in me. Scarlet tries to pin me down but I kick her in her stomach and slash my nails across her eyes. She screams in pain and falls to the ground.

She growls angrily and covers the eye that I have ripped out. I kick her spear away and cut through her stomach with my hands. It leaves a hole in her stomach. She gasps for air and later falls to the ground dead. William gains consciousness and stands up.

"Kalee," He says weakly. My eyes focus on Seth that is now running away. In an instant, I was in front of him. He stumbles back in shock.

"You are scared" I speak and he stops to look at me. "I'm sure Scarlet was a very skilled fighter but now she is dead," I say dryly.

"Are you happy?" I glare at him. "My friends are mostly dead. I'm in pain right now and you have no idea what I have been through!" I shout. He doesn't say anything and backs away slowly. "This is all my fault" I hold my tears back. "They are hurt because of me"

"No.." I hear zen weakly says. I gasp and shoot my head in Zen's direction. His alive!?

Suddenly, I feel a sharp pain straight in my chest. My eyes open wide to notice that Seth has stabbed me with the poison sword. "KALEE NO" I hear William cries. I fall to the ground. Seth takes it out of my chest and throws it down the huge crack that I made in the ground earlier. I Ignore the pain in my chest and kick his legs making him fall. "I'm so sorry everyone" I cry.

I roughly pull his arm and swing him to the edge. "If I'm going to die. You are dying with me" I hiss and I let my body fall while pulling him with me. We fight in mid-air. He tries to grab onto something for dear life. I would be doing the same but there was no fear in my eyes.

I just feel numb while His eyes were full of fear. We kept falling until I felt my head hitting the hard ground.
