Chap 10- Preparing for sports festival

Yuki's POV

I walk into class. Everyone's eyes shoot to me. They immediately ask why I am there. I think they are dumb. I am not even that hurt, I am only wrapped up like this because Granny decided this would be best. I look around and see my seat. I sit down and sigh. These bandages are hot. I realize they all want an answer. "I was bored and am not hurt that bad anymore. These are more of a precaution." They look at me like I've grown a third head. "Oh, were you asking about my abusive adoptive father then? Because I can't answer questions on that." I make a zipper motion over my lips. I watch as they go from exasperated to wtf real quick. "Ah, is there another thing-". Mina puts her finger over my lips. "Now, please explain, why you dropped an abusive parent bomb onus?" Mina asks. "Cause I thought you were asking about it?" They all sigh then smile at me. I look at Todoroki and he seems to relate. Add pro-hero Endeavor to the kill list: Check I smile at everyone before Jiro laughs darkly. "So, Yuki, if you don't mind me asking, who is your abusive adoptive dad. We just wanna talk." The mood goes from happy to sadistic in 3 seconds. I look her dead in the eye and say "If I tell you, he'll kill me." Everyone gasps. I smile and laugh "Just kidding!" Everyone sweat drops. "I can't tell because the police are taking care of it!" I say in a cheerful tone. Everyone smiles and takes that answer. Which is stupid because it's a lie but oh well.

Just then Aizawa-sensei walks in. His eyes soften when they land on me. Maybe he feels bad about me getting wacked into the ground? I mean I had it coming eventually I did sell us out. I smile as he tells everyone to sit down. He looks out and says "Your battle is not yet over-'' everyone pales at this "-for the sports festival is coming up." We all let out a collective sigh before we realizing, isn't this an incredible stupid idea after the villain attack? We voice our concerns and he looks at us like we were stupid. "That would be like canceling the Olympics because a country couldn't participate. It's stupid and there's no reason to." We all think before realizing he's right. Then we decide to panic. It is in 1 month. We got one month to train. I knew I would be fine because I train a lot at home. I even do break dancing.

He looks out at us and says "You have one month to train to your absolute best. Me and the other teachers are here if you have questions." And with that, he goes to sleep. I watch as everyone freaks out. I sit and open my notebook. I start to think of ways to use my wings. My first thought is that a shield or weapon could work. I get up and start walking toward the training grounds. I stop and change into the gym uniform but hurry toward the training ground. I get there to unfold my wings. I wiggle them and focus on the shield. I think of Kiris quirk. I focus on that when I feel my wings respond. I feel a mental connection with them now. This is weird I think as I feel every feather. I ruffle them and see that even hardened I can fly, it just takes a bit of effort. I ran back to class and bust in.

I grab Izu and Mina and drag them out. I get to the training ground and look them dead in the eye before saying "Try to hurt my wings" their eyes widen and they shake their head. I say "my wings are hardened right now, I need to see their limits." They still shake their heads. Maybe a bribe? "How about this, if you manage to hurt my wings before 5 minutes is up, I will help you make a new move." Izu shakes his head. "It's not that, we just don't wanna hurt you." I laugh at that and say "You can't, that's the point. Plus, I trust you guys. Also if you say no I'm going to ask Bakugou." Their eyes widen at this and they agree. I nod and set my timer for 5 minutes. I just gotta survive 5 minutes without hurting my wings. As the timer starts I shoot up in the air as Mina throws acid. We agreed I can't go more than 10 feet. I fly around as Mina throws acid and Izu punches. I dodge and weave unaware of the audience. We also decided that if I can knock them out, they owe my dinner. I dive at Mina when her back is turned and karate chop her in the neck. She falls like a sack of potatoes. I look at Izu and smile. He smiles as we rush at each other. At the last minute I jump and use his shoulders as a springboard. I flip him over and quickly knock him out. I get up and frown. "That was too easy..." I murmured unaware someone in the crowd wanted to challenge me. I wake up Izu and Mina and congratulate each other before looking out at the crowd.

Most had left but 3 were left behind. Is that tin-tin? I think as I wander over. "Hello, my name is Yuki, Fuko. Can I help you?" I ask politely. The tin-tin looking man smiles and says "Hi! I and Mirio, Togata! I was wondering if I could fight you?" I look at him in surprise. I see Izu in the corner of my eye shaking his head frantically. "Why?" I ask suspiciously. I look at his company, a shy looking elf and a bubbly fairy. I feel like I recognize them. My eyes widen as I recognize them. "Wait, y'all are the big three aren't you." They nod and I narrow my eyes. Was this a trick or did he really wanna spar. Something tells me he's dangerous. "Well, you looked almost bored and I feel like you may be able to hold your own against me for a bit!" I don't get offended at the implied 'you can't win' because I know I can't. I sigh and fold "sure". He gets excited and smiles at me. We walk to the platform and the timer goes off. Suddenly he's gone. I don't freak out, instead I use my other quirk. This may be cheating but they didn't say it wasn't allowed. I smile as I welcome Fenir back into my head. She rolls around before throwing me out of the way of his attack. I watch as he pops out from the ground. I don't freeze at the sight of him being naked, that'd be a stupid reason to get beat. Instead I take this chance to allow Fenir control a bit. She takes the wheel and sees when he solidifies for a second. She decides to use this to her advantage and 'bite' him. In reality I hit him with my signature punch. He looks a little surprised before phasing back into the ground. I feel into the Earth and sense him coming right below me. I quickly use my wings to fly away. He pops up and then goes back down. He seems confused down there. He can't see or hear down there. That means he's sending me. I test this by 'landing' then shooting back up he pops up where i was before going back under. I can outlast him. I land and hop up. But instead of running I hover for a second. When he pops up I get in front of him and try to punch him. I go through him. I quickly fly out of there because my wings can protect it if it goes through them. It continues like a game of cat and mouse until I get too slow. My wings cause fatigue and I forgot this. I took a second too long getting back up and he punched me in the stomach. Hard. Most people would fall down, instead I mutter "just like dear old dads" I chuckle at my own joke using his surprise to punch him in the face. Unfortunately he phased at the last second. I realize that I am beyond screwed right now. Using both quirks for an extended period of time spelt disaster. I realize this when I harden my wings only to have them disappear and me almost pass out. I step out of the ring and sit down. I go into recovery mode. I fall back and decide to take a little nap.

Mirio POV

I sense her step off, admitting defeat. I noticed her getting slower, fatigue must be a side effect of her quirk. I get my clothes on and see her napping and the concrete. I laugh and look at her friends and my friends standing next to each other. "How long did she manage?" I ask. "Longer than most! She played cat and mouse with you for about 5 minutes. She even managed to get a hit in!" My friend Nenjire said excitedly. I smiled and looked at her friends. "You should tell her that she did a pretty good job against one of the big 3!" Her friends nod. I notice the green haired boy wanting to ask questions. I look at him and say "If you have questions, I can answer them for you. Biggest. Mistake. Ever.

Author note

I love Mirio in a platonic way. like who wouldn't. I decided to have her meet Mirio a little earlier so she could just like greet him when he walks in. For the surprise factor. I was also going to make her win but that would've been to over powered.  Also, her quirk fenir works like a werewolf. She and the wolf can talk and stuff.
