A simple way to get feedback is from your friend, a fellow writer, your English teacher, or a writing group you're in. There's a big difference between asking for feedback and asking for an opinion, and you have to make this clear to your reader. Opinions on how the plot could go can easily make your creative spirit feel stifled or criticized. Also, just like when you form study groups with students who are just as motivated as you, do it with your writing. Find writers with the same ideas and goals and form a group where you share ideas.
1. Feedback is helpful and you need to receive it. If you think you've written the perfect plot, setting, characters, and/or world, then you're kidding yourself. When you feel so highly about yourself, you're not able to get feedback.
2. Also, give your story to the right readers. If you're writing about historical fiction, then give your book to someone who likes historical fiction, not someone who likes Romantic comedy. They won't see the beauty behind your writing.
