Chapter 52

Standing at the back door
She tried to make it fast
One tear hit the hard wood
It fell like broken glass
She said sometimes love slips away
And you just can't get it back
Let's face it

Wasted by Carrie Underwood

I am covered in blood as Alastair is holding me by my collar of the shirt I am wearing, while punching me repeatedly. He drops me after his last punch and then picks me up by my throat and shoves me against the hexacle, my feet can't touch the floor.

"You got a lot to learn, boy. So I'll see you back in class bright and early Monday morning." Alastair chuckles and turns. I smirk but wince a little as I see Castiel behind him holding Ruby's knife that I have dropped earlier.

Alastair drops me again, I spit out blood onto the concrete, too weak to get up and fight. Castiel stabs Alastair in the heart but the knife doesn't kill him like it does with all other demons. "Well, almost. Looks like God is on my side today." Alastair laughs.

Castiel lifts his hand and the knife twists itself causing Alastair to grunt in pain and he pulls out the knife, tossing it and charges for Cas.

He slams Cas against the wall, choking him. "Well, like roaches, you celestials. Now, I really wish I knew how to kill you. But all I can do is send you back to Heaven." Alastair growls as he starts to chant in Latin. Blue light appears in Castiel's eyes and mouth. Alastair stops abruptly choking and is slammed against the wall. "Dean!" I hear Skye. I look over and see Sam has his left hand raised and is facing Alastair and Skye runs over to me. "Hey baby." I smile, so happy to see my love.

"Stupid pet tricks." Alastair chuckles. "Who's murdering the angels? How are they doing it?" Sam demands.

"You think I'm gonna tell you?" He scoffs. "Yeah I do." Sam says as he twists his hand causing Alastair eyes to go white and he chokes more. "How are the demons killing angels?" Sam asks him again.

"I don't know." Alastair says. "Right." Sam scoffs. "It's not us. We're not doing it." Alastair says. "I don't believe you." Sam chuckles. "Lilith is not behind this. She wouldn't kill seven angels. Oh, she'd kill a hundred, a thousand. Go ahead, send me back, if you can." Alastair smirks. "I'm stronger than that now. Now I can kill." Sam smirks. "Sammy no." I say weakly as he holds his hand out and gold light flares inside Alastair causing him to scream. His hot collapses, dead and that was the last thing I saw before I passed out.

~HOSPITAL -DAY~

SKYE'S POV

"Get in there and heal him. Miracle. Now." I growl as Castiel. "I can't." He says. "You and Uriel put him in there!" I yell crying. "No." He says. "You can't keep a simple devil's trap together and now look what happened." I cry. "I don't know what happened. That trap...it shouldn't have broken. I am sorry." Castiel says. "This whole thing was pointless. You understand that? The demons aren't doing the hits. Something else is killing your soldiers." Sam says as he is leaning against the wall with his arms crossed against his chest.

"Perhaps Alastair was lying." Castiel says. "No, he wasn't." Sam says. "Well we don't know that cause he is dead." I say glaring at both Sam and Castiel. I shake my head and go back into the hospital room that Dean is in.

"Are you alright?" I ask him as I shut the door behind me. "What do you think." He says as he makes room for me on the bed. I crawl in next to him, resting my head on his chest as he holds me close to him and he kisses the top of my head.

Castiel appears in the room. "You all need to be more careful." He says. "You need to learn how to manage a damn devil's trap." Dean growls. "That is what I told him 10 minutes ago. "That is not what I mean. Uriel is dead." He says. "Was it the demons?" I ask. "It was disobedience. He was working against us." He says. "Is it true? Did I break the first seal? Did I start all this?" Dean asks Cas and I look at him, then back at Castiel.

"Yes. When we discovered Lilith's plan for you, we laid seige to hell and we fought our way to get to you before you..." Castiel trails off. "Jump-started the apocalypse." Dean says, finishing Castiel's sentence.

"And we were too late." Castiel says. "Why didn't you just leave me there, then?" Dean asks. "It's not blame that falls on you, Dean, it's fate. The righteous man who begins it is the only one who can finish it. You have to stop it." Castiel says.

"Lucifer? The apocalypse? What does that mean? Hey! Don't you go disappearing on me, you son of a bitch. What does that mean!?" Dean yells. "I don't know." Castiel says. "Bull." I scoff. "I don't. Dean, Skye, they don't tell me much. I know our fate rests with you." Castiel says.

"Well, then you guys are screwed. I can't do it, Cas. It's too big.Alastair was right. I'm not all here. I'm not...I'm not strong enough. Well, Iguess I'm not the man either of our dads wanted me to be. Find someone else. It's not me." Dean begins to cry and I hold him close as he cries into my neck.
